Exiled Jedi: Fallen Champion [Episode 33237]

by Matrix Dragon

My name is Sagat. Perhaps you've heard of me?" the traitor said mockingly. Ranma simply shook her head. "A shame. But then, I wasn't trained in your precious temple."

"And yet you wear a mockery of our robes." Ranma never took her eyes off the man, seemingly ignoring the Stormtroopers backing away from the pair.

"I was trained by a Jedi that had sworn his service to the Emperor," Sagat replied. "Before that, I was a champion fighter on the Rim, with skills that few seemed to be capable of matching. Of course, I had no way of knowing that it was the force guiding me in battle." He reached into his robes and pulled out a massive lightsaber, at least the size of the double bladed sabers Ranma had only ever seen in training. Yet as he ignited it, she saw that there was only one blade, a dark red beam the length of a more primitive claymore.

"So, are you done talking?" Ranma asked with a confident smile as she powered up her own saber, hers a purple blade, much like the legendary Mace Windu's. "Because I really want to make sure that girl's alright."

"Cocky little bitch!" Sagat roared, charging forward, saber in a double handed grip. Ranma did much the same, screaming a battle cry of her own.

Over the next few minutes, the surrounding Stormtroopers, not to mention the people hiding in nearby buildings, were witness to a form of battle rarely seen in the current era. The two warriors, light and dark, held nothing back in their attempts to destroy each other.

Sagat was a brute in terms of fighting. His blade tore apart the surrounding landscape, and his strength was such that Ranma seemed to stand little chance in a battle of muscle.

But the simple fact was that she didn't. She moved like the Jedi of old, leaping across the battlefield, jumping off the walls and attacking from above, and she wasn't adverse to using the terrain as a weapon either, as she demonstrated several times when Sagat had to dodge flying bins from behind him.

Sagat didn't seem to do that at first, seeming intent on beating her with physical force, but after about a minute of this, he seemed to change his mind, throwing some kind of force-bolts at the Jedi. Interesting, Ranma thought to herself as one of the small projectiles shot past her head, looks like a variation on the usual lightning. And easier to dodge too. Shw cursed mentally as one of the bolts blasted though a nearby wall, nearly hitting and killing one of the locals behind. Right, game's over Sagat! And with that, she vanished.

"What?!" Sagat roared as he stared at the empty spot where Ranma had been a moment before. Extending his senses, he tried to locate the Jedi. She was near, she was... Behind him!

He spun around, bringing his saber up. Too late it seemed too late, as all he saw was a flash of purple... and then nothing.

Ranma flickered back into view, lowering her saber slightly, and wiped a thin film of sweat from her forehead. I really have to find a way to make that technique easier, she thought to herself as she turned all her attention to the Stormtroopers.

The soldiers backed away slightly as Ranma stepped over Sagats headless body. "Let the girl go, and leave," she ordered, adding a touch of her will to her voice. Some of the Stormtroopers wavered slightly, but then their commander raised his rifle and fired. She deflected the shot easily, but the other troopers took it as a signal and added their firepower. More annoyed then angry, Ranma charged forward, lightsaber spinning. It wasn't even a challenge.

Moments later, as the last trooper fell, Ranma powered down her saber and walked over to the child. "Hey there," she said as she knelt in frount of the child, who was still crying a little. "They didn't hurt you did they?"

"No, b-but momma..."

"I'm sorry," Ranma whispered. "There's nothing I can do for them." Much to Ranma's relief, the girl didn't take it too badly, nor did she object when Ranma picked her up. "C'mon, we gotta get you out of here before any more Imperials turn up. What's your name?"
