While he was waiting for the Senshi to get over there shock and anser him, Ranma was wondering what kind of Ki techniqes they were using and, even though the attacks were unfocussed and wasted a lot of energy, if he could learn and improve upon them, (he especially liked the idea of being able to heat water anywhere to reverse his curse).
Then he remembered that Mercury Armor had absorbed the attacks and decided to ask it, Do you know how I could learn those Ki techniqes?
To which Mercury Armor replied Those were not Ki techniqes, they were magic attacks. But I may be able adapt myself to generate similar energy's. However in order to do that I would have to drain unknown amounts of each energy from my reservoir and that could drain the magic reservoir completely without result. Would you like me to make the attempt?
Go ahead said Ranma, My martial arts skills will be enough to handle these girls even if you do drain your reservoir.
Alright said Mercury Armor Then I shall begin the adaptation process, stand by. And with that the armour began to glow visibly.
”huh?” went Sailor Neptune, who was still realing from Uranus being turned into a Haruka-cicle before her very eyes and now that weird youma was starting to glow.
Analyzing ice and cold generatig capabilites aganist energy patterens in reservoir. Acessing hosts memory for information on how to adapt others abilitys. Extensive resourses found. Adapting to produce Fire, Air, Water patterens.
As the Symbiont adapted itself to produce the Senshi energys, independent of the energys in it's reservior, its glow began to recead and the Sailor Senshi symbols for Mars, Uranus and Neptune appeared around its Mercury symbol.
This is getting werid. thought Sailor Mars, seeing the three smaller symbols appeared on the armoured monster around the Mercury symbol and wondered what it could mean.
Adapttaion complete. Also note that I have come up with some ideas on how to improve the armour based on the energy patterens adapted . This will take several hours where both I and the armour are unavalible to you and is not suggested right now.
Alright. said Ranma Now just let me deal with this. And with that he turned his attention back to the Senshi and said “What is your answer?”
Someone sensible would have stopped and considered the words Ranma said after this little demonstration. Seeing that your opponent took your attacks as if they had the effect of a mere draught would give anyone pause. Lastly, having your partner frozen into powerlessness should make you reconsider your tactical options.
However, this was Sailor Neptune here. Granted, she was less stubborn and violence-inclined than Sailor Uranus but she was still an Outer Senshi. Someone who thought that the ends justified the means, that any unknown being had to be destroyed on sight in case it was an enemy. Someone who was ready to die for the Cause.
But most of all, Sailor Neptune was enraged because that monster hurt her lover !
"I will never surrender, monster ! DEEP SUBMERGE !" Her water blast suffered the same fate as the previous ones as it was neatly absorbed by the Mercury armor and its energy added to its mana reserves.
Ranma looked at Neptune's face. Ranma knew that expression, Ryoga had the same when he was in one of his berserker rages. He knew that he had to take her down before she hurt herself.
A sphere of blue energy appeared in his palm before exploding into a shower of frost headed for the green-haired senshi "DIAMOND... DUST !!!"
Sailor Neptune yelped and made an attempt to dodge worthy of a panicking Sailor Moon. She was only partially successfull. She couldn't feel her left arm anymore, she had frostbite all over her body and she also sported numerous minor cuts courtesy of the ice shards of the Diamond Dust. She gulped when she saw the ground covered in ice all along a straight line going from Ranma's hand to the Temple's outer wall "Had enough ?"
Neptune felt the situation was desperate. It was time for the big guns. Do or die... She pulled out the Deep Aqua Mirror and prepared her ultimate attack.
The Mercury Armor's mystical senses picked up the magic buildup. Warning, Sailor Neptune is about to make a desperation attack. Power level is raising to levels beyond absorption capabilities. Ranma shrugged and got into a new stance, gathering his own energy for a counterstrike. Timing and energy balancing would be critical...
Sailor Mars watched the two warriors facing each other off, unsure her intervention would do any good.
Neptune put all her remaining energy and a little more in her attack "SUBMARINE REFLECTION !!!" The Deep Aqua Mirror launched a water blast dwarfing the Deep Submerge by several orders of magnitude.
Taking another cue from his memories of watching Saint Seiya, Ranma let loose with his own attack "AURORA THUNDER... ATTAAAAACK !!!" He used his clenched fists as an automatic shotgun, sending bursts after bursts of near-absolute zero cold blasts surrounded by a freezing tornado.
The two attacks met in an explosion of raw magic halfway between Neptune and Ranma. Predictably, after a short struggle, the Aurora Thunder Attack overpowered the Submarine Reflection. Sailor Neptune screamed.
There was a tremendous explosion. Sailor Mars had to shield her eyes from the flash and the debris. When she opened them again, she gasped. Sailor Neptune was caught in a tall pillar of ice, her expression still frozen in terror and disbelief.
The armored monster powered down his aura and turned to face her. She silently prayed it was a case of misguided good guys having a fight over their first meeting (He was wearing the Mercury symbol after all). If not, the others had better hurry. She wasn't interested in becoming a popsicle, thank you very much !
Ranma put his foot down and crossed his arms in a show of annoyance "Now are you ready to listen to me or not !?!"
Authors note: Please be gentle with your comments since this is the first time writing any fanfiction. You may notice that a lot of this is the same as what was written by Jamil Nate this is because I thought it was a very well written sequence that worked with what I came up with and I just wanted to make sure people knew that. In conclusion please continue the thread started by The Masked Lurker about Setsuna being Ranmas' daughter because I feel that it has the potential lead to a series that makes you laugh out loud a lot and that it would be criminal to let it die out and I, myself, am not very good.
