It was probably due to the fact that people would keep staring at her. There were those familiar leering from some of the boys (Though they were more intense than usual...). Some of the girls were also looking at her funny (They weren't looking at her that way, were they?). There were also looks of pity from some of her classmates (She wasn't sure why.). There were also looks of revulsion (What did she do?). Frankly, it was starting to creep her out.
Earlier, during homeroom, Akane had been venting to her friends about her fiance's apparent infidelity. She hadn't had time to listen in on the gossip from the rest of the room. Which was a pity, since she would have understood some of what was going on and would have been even more freaked out. Kind of like what was going on with Ukyou Kuonji right now elsewhere in the classroom.
Ukyou had long given up on working on her English test. But she still kept her eyes riveted on the paper in front of her. If she looked up, she would see... THEM. It was bad enough she could FEEL them looking at her, desiring her, she couldn't bear to see those looks. Not again. That was a chapter of her life that was over with and that she wanted to forget. She was a NICE GIRL, damnit! She wasn't a nice BOY!
Ukyou had given up her feminity when she was young. And as she grew up, she had made quite a handsome figure of a boy. In middle school, she had been quite popular with the girls, and not just because of her good looks. She had garnered a reputation of being a ladies' man, while still keeping the lady in question's virtue intact. Oh, yes; Ukyou Kuonji had been a son her father could be proud of.
In Classroom 2-E, Nabiki Tendo was smiling. She'd been wearing that grin all day long. Frankly, it was freaking everyone else out. They had heard all the rumors going on; they were dying to ask her what really happened. Except... well... Nabiki had heard the rumors, too, and her reaction had been to just smile and grin a little wider. Occassionally, she would giggle. Nabiki never giggled. She would laught at you. She would snicker at you. She never giggled. It was really creeping them all out.
