It was during his twenty second kidnaping by Azalyn. She had kidnaped him in order to invite him to her twenty first birthday party. After a series of comedic events; Including a pair of assassins bursting out of Azalyn birthday cake; Tylor, Azalyn, and Yuriko Star had ended up in a Azalyn bedroom, drinking about their past adventures. The three got drunk, and things happened..
Two months later, it was found Tylor was VERY lucky, and somehow had gotten both Azalyn and Yuriko Star pregnant, even though Azalyn was a different species. A few threats, and invoking of a little used ralgon law, and Tylor had been promoted to Admiral, placed in the reserves, and married to both Yuriko and Azalyn. And that was the end of the Irresponsible Captain. (Not that it changed him that much. The Soyokaze was his personal property now, having been a wedding gift from the Untied Planet Space Forces. The crew still got together occasionally to stir up trouble aboard it, just for old times sake.)
Time passed, as all things do. Yuriko gave birth to a baby girl, whom she named Ukyo, and Azalyn gave birth to a pair of twins about a month later. The daughter was named Razalin, and proclaimed to the heir to the ralgon throne. The son was named Justy Ueki Tylor the Second, after his father.
With in a month after the twins birth, Yuriko and Tylor had a falling out, and divorced. The reasons for which never became apparent..
Time passed some more. Azalyn's twins, after a series of genetic tests, were discovered to be fertile, and when they grew up, could have children, weather they chose a human or ralgon as their mate. This combined with the announcement that Azalyn was pregnant again, served to greatly reduce the tension between the Ralgon Empire and the United Planet Space Forces. By the time Ruyilon was born, just three years after his older sibling, a permanent Peace Treaty had been signed, and several planets along the border had a sizable population of both humans and ralgons. There were still the occasional disinter and pirates, but things had generally quieted down. Everyone lived happily after..
For about 7 years... Then the first Killrathi ship appeared on the far side of the Ralgon Empire. It was a small skirmish, the lone Killrathi ship was defeated easily. Then another showed up around a planet just 60 light-years away.. and another, and another. Each travailing at high speeds in real space. When the debris of their ships were analyzed, it was discovered that the Killrathi did not have warp technology.. They were deemed a pest, even if their fighters and capital ships were much faster and more maneuverable. They always appeared alone, a single ship entering the system. And their other technology was less advanced then either human or ralgon. A few dozen patrol ship together could easily warp in and defeat them.
This wisdom only lasted another 4 years, until the first Killrathi fleet appeared around Siyron III. The small group of ships that had been set up to deal with the Killrathi threat warped in, and were quickly overwhelmed but the sheer numbers of the Killrathi fleet. Only two of the patrol ships were able to warp out in time. But the damage was done.
A year later, the first Killrathi ships equipped with a warp drive appeared. The first Killrathi-Ralgon/Earth War had begun.
