Ranma looked around. Nine survivors. Nine people out of everyone he knew, as far as he could tell, the entire world.
No more Mousse, no more Tatewaki Kuno, no more Nabiki, no more Happosai, no more Yuka, Sayuri, Hiroshi, Daisuke, Gosunkugi... Ranma stopped himself. Better to concentrate on who was here.

2 Cologne, looking even older and more out of place than he'd ever seen her.
3 Kasumi, who was sitting down and staring at nothing in particular.
4 Ukyo, who had been knocked unconscious by Konatsu and thrown through that gate thingie.
5 Kodachi, who had fainted and had been thrown through much as Ukyo had been.
6 Shampoo, who was looking over things much as he was, looking more serious than he'd ever seen her.
7 Akane who looked like she wanted to kill somebody.
8 Yoiko, that fortune teller girl, who was doing something with those cards.
9 Hinako, who was muttering something about delinquents.
Cologne hobbled up to him. "This land feels different. Strange in ways I cannot easily explain. That boy said that this was the 'Dragonlands' and that we were between two empires - one to the North and one to the South. Neither of whom I have heard of before."
"Great Grandmother, Shampoo go up to top of hill. You look and see if you see what Shampoo see."
Cologne nodded to the younger Amazon and slowly made her way up the hill.
"What's wrong with her? Age catch up with her?" Ranma asked Shampoo since she wasn't glomping onto him or something weird like that.
"Yes." Shampoo's eyes flicked to side. "Great Grandmother extend life through chi. Chi link to land, force of planet. We not there no more. Until she adapt, she much hurt."
"Oh. Sorry," said Ranma. "Everybody's hurt. We ain't got no supplies either."
"There's something wrong with the horizon," said Cologne after she'd returned. "For that matter, look there."
