The reason he was hired to train him, as he was told, was Tenchi had been long taught sword techniques, but little unarmed tactics. Hence, he was hired. But Ranma still had questions about that. Why was he hired, and not someone else? Why did the old man decide to fix this oversight so late in his training? Why did almost EVERYONE around here feel not quite human? And why did he have to go to this shrine to teach?
While he was being paid quite well, part of the agreement was he had to move to the shrine to train Tenchi. A little odd, but he didn’t mind. In fact, he could use the break from Nermia. Secondly, it gave him a time to relax. Outside of teaching, he had free time, something he never got in Nermia.
Ranma clapped his hands to draw Tenchi’s attention. Tenchi halted his exercises and turned to him.
“All right, I think I got a good idea where’ya at. Will start the real stuff in the morning.” His student nodded as Katsuhito turned to him.
“Well Ranma what do you think?” The old man asked, seemingly carefree in a way.
“He’ll need some work, and I’ll need to break his reliance on swords, which can take some time. Then I have to teach him the basics, and build up from there. Needs some better conditioning too. I gotta few ideas.” They weren’t near as harsh as what his old man used on him, but he figured Tenchi will struggle though them.
Sasami looked upwards and gasped as she saw where the sun was at and what time it was. “Oh no! I have to start supper soon!”
Ranma blinked and turned to the girl. “You handle the meals?”
Sasami nodded and beamed back at him. “Yup! Would you like to help me?”
Ranma scratched the back of his head and nodded. “Sure, guess I could.” He just hoped that weird cat/rabbit thing wasn’t around. He knew it wasn’t a cat, despite it’s looks and sounds, but it still made him nervous.
