"Too late, my dear," said the serpent man. "Your heart is already as black as pitch. You've sold out every shred of morality that your society holds dear. Blackmail, pornography, gambling? What of any of the couples whom you've sabotaged? Why, you haven't been above any shady deals - including the manufacture of evidence that you've used to destroy people? Remember Shigeru in your sophomore year?"
"He vanished after I circulated those rumors of him, and he could have kept me quiet for a mere 15000 yen." Nabiki stated, really not liking where this was going.
"He committed suicide after you started circulating the rumors, seems he was dealing with depression most of the time, you just pushed him off the edge," Set said with a scaly smirk. "This certainly wasn't the act of a hero was it?"
"That was his own look out," said Nabiki, looking for an exit.
"Your hands are nice and bloody and dirty, Nabiki Tendo," said Set. "Ssso, Bastet has her own hero. You'll be my representitive. Where you go, you'll sicken and kill those you come into contact with. I'm just bringing your nature to the fore."
"Wait a minute, I -" Nabiki blinked as she was suddenly in a park somewhere. "Was it a dream?"
"Arf?"
Nabiki looked down and saw a small dog waggling his tail up at her, having dropped a ball at her feet.
"Sorry, she's not really trained yet," called out a man's voice in English as he rushed to retrieve his puppy.
Nabiki shrugged and reached out to touch the obviously friendly pooch.
The dog keened in pain as the fur and skin melted away where she'd touched it, then lay still on the ground.
"What the hell did you do to Rags?"
Nabiki found the guy staring at her, beginning to go from shock to enraged. "I don't -"
The man reached out, obviously going to try and grab her by the shoulder. Nabiki reached out to grab that arm and keep her freedom.
Now the man dropped, screaming as his flesh melted away to show bone as his body was poisoned on the molecular level.
Nabiki backed away, staring at the marks her hands had made on the two bodies. She heard a few screams and noticed the crowd beginning to gather and point at
