Digi-tamer Ranma: How Ranma became a tamer [Episode 35692]

by Demonhawk01

Nodoka smiled as she watched her darling son play with the young girl before her. She turned her head to Rumiko and Hata.

"You’re sure about this?" She inquired.

"Oh yes... even now Rika's showing her stubborn side. *sigh* She'll never find a man with that attitude... Better we choose one for her." Rumiko replied, enjoying one of the few breaks from being a model. Hata just smiled worriedly, who'd have thought her career driven daughter would be so traditional? She hoped such an arrangement would work out.

Nodoka just smiled. Her boy would be a man amongst men, who else would be better suited to help out her dear friend? And as the head of the Saotome Family, she had the final say in making engagements. For a second she paused, thankful that she had at least taken that advice of her parents and not allow Genma to become the head of the family. Even now he was out training with that dreadful man Happosai.

"Then it’s settled... My son Ranma Saotome is now engaged to your daughter Rika Nonaka."

As the two women signed the document making everything nice and legal, three year old Ranma and Rika played the innocent games of children, mainly throwing mud at each other

--------------------------

Three years later.

Nodoka's eye's blurred with tears. "You be a good boy Ranma and obey your father. Remember to come back as a man amongst men for me!" She kissed her only son goodbye as he shouldered his backpack... As Ranma turned she quickly snuck a certain copy of a document into a hidden pocket. Ranma would find it in time, and perhaps he will visit his fiancée.

Grumbling to himself Genma frowned at Nodoka coddling the boy. He had to learn to be a martial artist! Then get engaged to a Tendo and ensure his fathers life of luxury. Ah the things he went through to avoid a job...err I mean be a dutiful father!

Nodoka could only sob quietly as she watched her little Samurai leave for the first time.

-------------------------

A few months later.

Hmm the Neko-ken was a bad idea... who knew? And now he had to pay for more supplies to get his son out of the hospital! Curse those ER Martial artist! How dare they say his word of promise is no good

Genma grinned as he slunk along the corridors cloaked in his 'sealed' technique. It was brilliant, a little sabotage and theft at this toy company.... and some rival would pay him handsomely, more than enough to get his son out of the hospital! He quickly broke into the lab grabbing everything he could, pausing he saw what looked like a toy game, one of those Tamagatchi thing-a-mabobs... Well Ranma's birthday was coming up, why not? Maybe it would shut the boy up about having to leave his Uc-chan

Unseen by Genma a transparent floating fish/angel like creature giggled as he grabbed the device, before fading away.

-------------------

"Argh! We’ve been robbed!"

"What they take?"

"Nothing much, just the designs for our latest Mecha toys....and oh no!"

"What?"

"The thieves stole our prototype for the D-reader! It’ll take us years to create a new one!"

A calm voice interrupted. "Then just push back the Digimon release a few years.. No problem." With that a hand flicked open and closed a lighter.

Yamaki grinned in triumph. As he predicted that fat fool had only damaged their latest series, and even better had delayed the release of Digimon to the world. This bought him time... time to further entrench HYPNOS and create his personal project, the Juggernaught. This delay would limit the forms those accursed AI's could take in breaching into the real world, at least for a while. Yes best to delay this 'Digimon' until he and his organization was ready.

----------------------------

Ranma skipped happily down the street. He just celebrated his 7th birthday, and even better! Papa had gotten him a present! Sure he had no clue what it did, but that’s not the point! It was his! All his!

"Ooof! Hey watch where you’re going!" Ranma yelled at the retreating man in a trench coat who had just knocked him down. "Meanie! Hmmm.. What’s this?"

Glancing down to pick up his present he spotted a card. The man must have dropped it. Hmm Papa said that if you could snatch something it was yours... but didn't that nice lady say stealing was wrong? Hmph! Well is served the meanie right! Nearly causing Ranma to break his new present! The blue card was all his!

Grinning at his logic he picked up, noticing a magnetic strip on it. Pondering what it meant he glanced up. Oh there was one of those ATM machine.... and that guy had a card with a stripe to! Ranma watched wide-eyed as the business man ran the card through a little wedge and the machine hummed.

"Hmm...Wait a minute! Papa's present has a wedge like that!" Grinning at his logic Ranma pulled out his D-reader and held it in one hand and the blue card in another. Trembling with joy he ran the blue card through the reader.

"Wai! OI get to find out what Papa's present does!" Ranma blinked as his D-reader suddenly glowed and then morphed. Morphed into a more sleek futuristic shape. Unknown to him, Ranma had just activated the very first Digi-vice!

"Wow! It’s a magic screen! Neat!" Ranma Grinned.

"Oh brother...you mean you’re my new Tamer?" Ranma whirled around and gasped at the shape in the alleyway before him. It wasn't human! He quickly leaped back in a defensive posture. "Oh well, your speed at least indicates your strong... can you make me strong as well perhaps?"

Ranma nodded nervously. "Papa says... that I'm going to be a martial artist and that martial artist are the strongest! I'm going to be the very best!"

"Martial artist eh? Very well Young Tamer, you can call me..."
