Evantoongeion: Return To Sender...Address Is Known. [Episode 35834]

by Bryan

In the dead of night, the Pink Angel snuck up to the GeoFront door on her tippy toes accompanied by achingly cute 'tippy toe' music played by an unseen 300-piece symphony orchestra. In one hand she held a small, plain brown package dotted with assorted Sanrio character stickers and labled:

To:
Gendo Ikari
c/o NERV GeoFront Headquarters
Tokyo-3, Japan

From:
The Pink Angel and your friends at SEELE
The Last Cave On The Left
Middle Of Nowhere, Antartica

Contents:
One N2 Mini-Mine. Fragile. Handle with care.

She placed the package on the landing and rung the door bell and then slunk away into the night undetected....

Or so the Angel thought....

"Package for you, sir." said Maya Ibuki, offering the Mini-Mine package to her Machiavellian boss, Gendo Ikari.

Accepting the package from the NERV officer, Gendo glanced at the package momentarily. "Pathetic scenario." he mused with contempt before he returned to his office to continue work on the follow-up to his bestselling book Advanced Backstabing And Weasel Politics By Gendo Ikari to be tentatively titled Convoluted Mind Games And Influence Peddling For The Beginner Scenarist By Gendo Ikari....

Yes, dear reader, the NERV leder made his name part of the book titles. When asked about it, he said the titles looked and sounded better that way and not because he's some kind of megalo^H^H^H^H^H^Hegomaniac....

Hiding in her cave, the Pink Angel snickered manevolently while suitable, manevolently symphonic music played in the background (coughThe 1960's: The Turbulent Yearscough). She was certain the GeoFront and all inside it would be obliterated into a white, star-hot nothingness once Mr. Ikari opened the package....

Looking up at the mouth of the cave, the Angel noticed a small brown package float down on a small white parachute with the olive green Nihon Parcel Service logo on it. In a flash, the Angel grabbed up the package with a snatch and looked at it. It was a small, plain brown package dotted with assorted Sanrio character stickers and labled:

To:
The Pink Angel
The Last Cave On The Left
Middle Of Nowhere, Antartica

From:
Gendo Ikari and your friends at NERV
c/o NERV GeoFront Headquarters
Tokyo-3, Japan

Contents:
One S2 Mini-Engine. Fragile. Handle with care.

Tearing off the outer wrapper, the Angel saw there was an envelope and a small grey box clearly marked 'OPEN ENVELOPE FIRST!' on all 6 sides inside. Opening the envelope, there were a stack of small cards inside. The Angel pulled out the stack of cards and looked at the topmost one....

The kanji for '6' stared up at the Angel who tossed the card aside....

The kanji for '5' stared up at the Angel who tossed the card aside....

The kanji for '4' stared up at the Angel who tossed the card aside....
[Don't worry folks, this ain't the 'elevator scene'.... ;) ]

The kanji for '3' stared up at the Angel who tossed the card aside....

The kanji for '2' stared up at the Angel who tossed the card aside....

The kanji for '1' stared up at the Angel who tossed the card aside....

The word 'BOOM!' stared up at the Angel....

What does it mean?... thought the Angel inwardly in contemplation....

The Angel contemplated....

The Angel contemplated some more....

The Angel contemplated well in excess of three minutes thereby becoming the longest, seemingly pointless scene to never appear in Neon Genesis Evangelion....

Wait!...

There seemed to be one last card underneath the 'BOOM!' card....

The Angel tossed aside the 'BOOM' card....

"NOT!!!"

stared up at the Angel....

Eyes wide as several dinner plates arranged one above each other, the Angel shrieked with a piercing, thunderously loud cry: "HUWAAAAAAAAAA--"

--and there was much annihilation....(Yaaay!...)
