We're Doomed: "What's that book for?" [Episode 3770]

by Thrythlind

Kiyoko came up short as she saw the bane of her existence scanning over the various symbols on the wall. Kiyoko suppressed the desire to ask him what the symbols read and took out her book yet again. She scanned through several pages of the book and glanced at the wall. Yet again nothing she translated made any sense.

"What's the book for?"

"To translate the hieroglyphics, baka," Kiyoko said flattly.

"Well that would be fine if these were Native American pictographs," Jeremiah noted. Kiyoko blinked and checked the title of her book. Jeremiah smirked at the low growl coming from his rival.

"I'm going to kill you for this," she promised him. "I really am."

"Aren't you interested in what the writing says?" Jeremiah watched as Kiyoko fumed and fiddled with her pistol. "Well?"

"What is it?"

"Seekers must face one last challenge before they can acquire the favor of the Gods," he noted.

"The favor of the Gods?" Kiyoko repeated, images floated through her head. Items of power, tomes of ancient secrets, magic and power beyond her wildest dreams.

"Wonder what that means?" Jeremiah scratched his head. "Sounds interesting enough."

"Where's the last challenge?" Kiyoko demanded, brandishing her gun again.

"Its jammed, remember?" he smiled smuggly.

Kiyoko irritably holstered the pistol and reached for her knife, which, she remembered, was stuck in the sphinx's side.

Jeremiah snickered as he walked over to a section of the wall that seemed to be painted to resemble a gateway. Kiyoko glanced at it and suddenly all her warning bells were flaring.
