We go back in time. More exactly back to the year 1987. Now we approach
the noth american continent and look for a genetical lab in one of the big
universities. In this university, we a a professor. Professor Maximilian
Heldem, one of the best sientist in this time in the area of genetics. He had
only one little problem. He was obsessed. Obsessed with the fact that mankind
is to dumb in his mind. And he wants to change it. So he was working on a
special virus that, once spread, would make mankind more intelligent.
Some test with mokeys and rats where successful and he had worked out a
way to make transfer it to humans. He thought that he would be the best test
object and injected the virus into himself. Since he had choosen a virus that
would remain only in his body he went home. Unfortunately he understermined
Mother Nature...and the goddes Bast. Why? Well, he used feline DNA to create
the virus. So as he went home, he spread the virus and infected friends, family
and colleagues.
Three weeks later, the virus had spread more than a fourth of earth and
the changes began for Professor Heldem. In a timeframe of two month he changed
into an antropomorph cat. He was only the first. In the end and after more than
two years half of the planets population was turned into these so called ‘Felids’.
The virus itself was called Felidae Metamorphosis Virus, short FMV, by the WHO
(World Health Organisation) and the change Felidae Metamorphosis Syndrom, FMS.
The change itself was complete and dormant. To say the change hurt, was
to say the surface of the sun is warm. The changes even expanded to the rest of
the population, which lost any form of xenophobic tendencies.
The Felids are more intelligent, stronger, faster and sharper senses.
But it isn’t something that makes the average Felid arrogant. Your avarage
Felid wants only to live in peace. But no rule without an exeption.
In 1989 an american senator in Ohio went down the megalomanic road and
found many followers. He created his own Felid state in Ohio and called it
Felidania. -_-; Every normal human was cast out of the state and many Felids
that where like him went there.
And than there is another extreme. Afganistan. Not a single Felid
visites this land and lives to tell about it.
As for the rest of earth...there are no real problems between humans and
Felids, exept for some extremists, maybe only a million in the other stares,
who would like to see earth become like Afganistan or Felodania.
And Ranma Saotome is one of the changed. And now we have 1999 and Ranma
just came to the Tendo Dojo.

Ranma groaned as awoke. His head hurt. The last thing he knew was that
damn big mallet coming down on his head.
“Damn, what hit me?”
“My sister,” said a sad voice from besides him.
Ranma didn’t need to open his eyes to tell that a female Felid sat next
to him. But he opened his eyes notheless. He saw a Felid that was one year
older than him. She had a light brown fur that reminded him of a puma from the
zoo and she had cut her hair short, unusual for a Felid, since they normaly
wore their hair long, in a braid or a pony-tail. She wore shorts and a
sleveless shirt. He could see, and smell, that she used to work out and maybe
she was a martial artist.
“Akane is a violent maniac. But only to us Felids.”
Ranma blinked. He wasn’t really used to the fact that someone hated a Felid.
Okay he had some people that hated him, but not because he was a Felid.
The girl breathed in deep.
“By the way, my name is Nabiki.”
Ranma nodded. Only now he registered that he was male again and not the
short busty, redfurred Felid, he turned into by cold water.
“I take it Dad told you about Jusenkyo?”
Nabiki nodded.
“Yes. And about the engagement.”
Ranma looked around and than out of the window.
“Why does she hate us?”
“It has to do with the death of our mother,” she said and Ranma could
see some tears,” She had cancer and got a chemo. Than the change hit and destroyed
her allready weak imune system. She was killed by an ordenary flu. Akane
thought it was because she change. She hates every Felid since than.”
Nabiki began to cry. Instinctly Ranma drew her closer and she leaned
onto him.
“I was the first to be target of her hate. With the death of mom I’M the
only Felid in the family. She made some nasty things. Broken bones are only the
most harmless. I got Dad back to teaching and now I’m the hair to the school.
But Akane insistes to be it. That makes her hate only grow. And Kuno doesn’t
help either.”
“Whos Kuno?”
“He’s a Felid in my class. He is mostly harmless, but thinks he is still
in the Shogunate and that him being a Felid is a gift of the gods. He...
