"It looks like the balls change their captive's personality," Ukyo exclaimed, "by removing the dominant characteristic - like now, Akane has almost no anger."
"I wasn't that bad," Akane protested mildly. "Was I, Ranma?"
Ranma cringed instinctively, then did a double take. "Uhm, yes, yes you were."
"Oh," Akane blinked. "Sorry about that."
"You're also an uncute tomboy!" Ranma added, "You can't cook and you swim like a brick. And your thighs are thick!" He covered his head instinctively.
"I'm sure there's no need to be rude," Akane chided with a light pout.
"Man, that's freaky," Ranma observed. "Say what do the other balls remove?"
"The same thing," Ukyo said. "They all remove the dominant characteristic, whatever that is. It varies from person to person."
"So if you used one on Nabiki, it'd remove her greed," Akane observed calmly. "On Ranma they'd suck up his confidence. Or your love of Okonomiyaki, Ukyo."
"Don't even joke about it!" Ranma and Ukyo yelled.
"Okay," Akane agreed pleasantly. "So if we used one on Kuno do you think it'd remove his obsession? That'd be nice."
"Or we could get rid of the old freak's lust!" Ranma exclaimed happily. "Or maybe we could..."
"Probably," Ukyo interupted to observe. "But I've only got two left, and they are my birthday pressent."
"Sure," Akane agreed happily. "But can't they be reused?"
Ukyo blinked at Akane for a moment, then checked the manual.
