Apparently, the balls could be used on more than one person, but that didn't explain what happened to Akane.

Eventually, Ranma and Ukyo found that...

• Akane's anger was changed to kindness.
• Akane had a Pokemon's personality.
• Someone else was inside the ball.
• Just then, someone else got sucked into one of the balls.
• Something else
