Ranma's New Life/Inu-Ranma: Bone Eater's Well Strikes Again... [Episode 39218]

by Red Priest of the 17th Order

Ranma looked around for a bit, turning his head left, then right. "Let's see... Forest... Forest... Green... Forest... Lake... Forest... small turle-like things... Forest... Forest..."

Ranma came to a conclusion. He wasn't in Kansas Tokyo anymore. "Damn... How the hell did this well get me into a forest?"

Seeing that just staying there wasn't going to get any answeres, Ranma chose a direction and began to walk through the greenery. Wherever he was, the placed seem rather healthy compared to a lot of forests he's been through. "I wonder if I'm on private property. No forest could be this healthy without health. Modern society and pollution have seen to that..." He thought bitterly. Being a martial artist and living on the openm road, Ranma had learned to live without a lot of modern conveniences people take for granted.

His walk continued for about another ten minutes before he came across a well-worn dirt path. "This must lead somewhere..." Ranma said to himself, stating the rather obvious. "Just hope it's to someplace useful..."

Following the path, it wasn't too long before Ranma came across the village... Ranma was amazed by how rustic the place was. It was like he stepped right into a page out of his history book's Feudal Japan section. (There were many pictures in it Ranma enjoyed).

Ranma walked through the village. He noticed people stop for a few moments and stare at him... There were also many a hushed whispers among the crowds of people. He sighed. He didn't even do anything, and somehow, he was aready causing unrest with the people. "Just my frikin' luck..." Ranma thought bitterly. Damn it! Wasn't that karma cleansing supposed to help!?

Sighing, Ranma came to a conclusion. He had to find out where he was. Maybe there would be someone who could answer him. Perhaps he should head towards the nearest temple. He's known the religious folk to always help people in need. And right now, Ranma needed to know where the heck he was.

(------)

The old Priestess Kaede was kneeling before a shrine, offering prayer to any of the numerous worshipped dieties in the Shinto Religion that would heed her.

Her prayers were slightly interupted as she head someone walking through the small building. "Excuse me..."

Kaede blinked. She recognizeed the voice immediately. "Honestly, Inu-Yasha, what are you doing back so soon?" She started to try to turn around. "You and the others had only left this morning to go after Naraku and..."

Kaede stopped. She looked at the youth before her. She was amazed. His clothing was like that of which she had seen from that Importer of Chinese goods. His short raven black-hair and sapphire-blue eyes were definitely human, and she was guessing Japanese. However, it was amazing, the similarity between his face and Inu-Yasha's. "I'm sorry. I thought you were someone else."

Ranma shrugged his shoulders. "No problem."

Kagome blinked, shocked at hearing the youth's voice. "Excuse me?"

"I said it's 'no problem'." Ranma said. "I'm just curious as to who this 'Inu-Yasha' is."

Kaede was in a state of shock. This youth was not only human, had Inu-Yasha's face and voice, but when she thought about it, his height and build, although human, were a match for Inu-Yasha's. "Who are you?"

Ranma shrugged. "Ranma Saotome. Practicioner of the Saotome School of Anything Goes Martial Arts."

Kaede blinked. Not only did this boy before her have a very physical resemblance to Inu-Yasha, but he also had his attitude. Following a stray thought, she asked, "Tell me, did you come here through a well?"

Ranma blinked. "Yeah. How did you know?"

Sighing, Kaede said, "We have much to discuss..."
