The Red String of Fate. Legend had it that lovers connected by it would stay together lifetime after lifetime. To those unfortunate souls who cut that thread however, never again could the two ever join together in happiness.

Prior to the wish, Keitaro Urashima had possessed two strings. One binding him to Mutsumi which he would eventually sever had things gone on as they had, and a second one to Naru Narusegawa.

In order to comply with his careless words, new strings were added. And a few past events altered.

As if in a dream, Keitaro witnessed his young, bmubling, clueless self at 5 years of age playing in a sandbox. But this time, instead of the mysterious promised girl of his dreams, it was the girls of the Hinata Sou, themselves returned to youngest childhood, who were his companions this time. Even Tsuruko was there, oddly enough little older here then her younger sister. Shocked into immobility, Keitaro could only watch as his past self again pledged the promise that haunted him to this day. Only this time, he did it to ALL the girls, including two who by all rights shouldn't have even been born yet!

"Let's go to Toudai and all live together happily ever after!"

As the dreamscape faded into obscurity, those words echoed mockingly in the new Toudai student's ears. Yes, he'd gotten into the school of his dreams. But...

Knowing it was futile to put off the inevitable, Keitaro turned back to look at the girls...
