"Table for three," said one of the businessmen, obviously checking out the eye-candy.
"This way," Nabiki cheerfully said, calculating out who was the spender and who the guests.
Kasumi was working a table with a family. Shampoo was working delivery. The place was packed anyway.
Cologne was seriously considering the benefits of moving here regularly, not a lot of insanely powerful martial artists - true. There were down points about any location though. And frankly the village could use new plumbing and the water purification equipment wasn't the best. Hmmm.
Wait a minute. What was that on TV?
"You are lucky ve caught vous, M'sieur Le Duck!"
Mousse-duck glared at the individual.
"I has chosen Duck L'orange!" The French chef declared.
"We will back to Iron Chef, right after these commercial announcements!"
Ukyo tried to sneak along the ceiling and grab the book when she noticed someone else doing the same.
A silent detente as the two hung from the kitchen ceiling, each not daring to move lest they give away their position to Akane.
Kodachi glared at Ukyo. Ukyo glared at Kodachi.
"THIS SHOULD DO IT!" Akane said, throwing in a small lizard. "Now the words. Uhm, here we go."
Ukyo began easing away, being familiar enough with magic to be very wary of staying at their present location. Sure enough, the words seemed to indicate something other than conjuring layer cakes. Kodachi merely stared in surprise.
"Darkness beyond twilight
Crimson beyond blood that flows
Buried in the stream of time,
that's where your power grows!"
Ukyo accelerated out the window as those tiny little hairs on the back of her necks started coming to attention. Kodachi was coming to the conclusion that perhaps it would be best not to remain.
Smite the fools who before me stand,
I pledge myself to darkness, the power to command!"
Kodachi began backing away. Ukyo was halfway to her restaurant as she noticed water dancing in puddles on the street.
"Dragon slave!"
Only the fact that she'd had to substitute ingredients kept Nerima from becoming a smoking crater.
As it was, everything within 1000 yards of the Tendo kitchen -
