After the Cold family were killed by Ranma. Nodoka Saotome managed to convince her son to stay on Earth instead of going back to space. However, he had a condition.
All engagements made by Genma and herself were null and void. Even Cologne didn't want to pressure him so the kiss of marriage was voided. The amazons did stay since Ranma did volunteer to train them better in ki techniques. His year at fighting the Cold family made him even better than the old matriarch herself.
The problem he was having today was his mother talked him to go back to school.
