People woke up, went to school or work, came home and then went to bed. This was repeated as nauseum as needed interpersed here and there by a vareity of entertainments as preferred by the individual in question.
There were churches, schools, offices, sporting events and movies. There were guns and politics and drugs and people still debated over the amount of violence, sex and profanity in movies, television and songs. There were problems a plenty, but they did not seem all that extreme.
But there were many subtle differences between this world and the world we live in.
Much of the environment and much of its flora were preserved and even throve beside the cities, though damage to the environment was still loudly debated, it was not so severe.

Vampires, uncommon and usually malevolent, prowled the nights seeking prey to survive the curse of immortality placed upon them by their original sire, Caine.
Diabolists made contact with powers from beyond the Earth seeking greater power.
Unseelie changlings strove to bring terror and rage into the hearts of the mortals about them.
Rogue tribes of weres encouraged fanatical wars against other factions of the world.
Wraiths flitted in the dark umbra on their own errands, bearing no unified agenda, some benign some malign. They were their own kind.
