"What is this?" Shinji asked.
The Spells R Us Wizard came over and looked at the cover. His eyes twinlked a bit, as he looked at the cover.
"That is an Old West RPG."
"Old West?" Shinji asked.
"Ah. That's right, you didn't have much chance to learn about other cultures. Well, that scene depicted what is the steroypical setting of a game set in the late 1800's of the United State around the areas of Texas, Okalahoma, and the other desert states. It was a time when men and sometimes women stood larger than life with their self-detemination and 'nothing can stop me' attitude."
Shinji looked up with interest. "What do you mean by that?"
The wizard took a deep breath. "You had people like Davey Crocket and Johnny Appleseed. Then their were the larger than life myths. Pecos Bill who lassoed a tornado and rode it. John Henry who pounded more steel than a machine. They did not take 'no' or 'impossible' for an answer."
"I see. I wish I was more like tham," Shinji muttered, as he looked down at the book.
The Wizard smiled.
Shinji glanced down at where he picked up the Western RPG and saw a slightly different cover. He picked it up and saw a third cover of the same game.
Shinji asked, "Huh? Why are there three covers?"
The Wizard laughed. "That's easy. The first game you picked up is just the straight Western world. The 2nd one is what is known as a Steampunk setting. Steam and clockwork powered machines with a bit magic thrown in. Notice the mechanical horse? That third game, just by the picture of it being at night with a blood red moon, tells me that is the Western/Horror fusion. Evil spirits trying to take over the Old West."
Shinji put both the books down he was holding and looked at them. He flipped throught the bin of RPG books and noticed other covers.
"I see. Interesting. I guess I'll take this version," Shinji said, as he picked up a book.
