" What was that? And why did it feel so familiar' Bast pondered allowing Toltiir to beat a hasty retreat from the goddesses wrath. Then it hit her! It5 was from the Charm of Favour that she had granted the mage Iczeron for creating the Werecat races. She was sure Iczeron had fused it into an artifact to create a super Werecat protector for himself and the Werecats to ensure their survival & the destruction of his treacherous Wererats!
The Orb of Felbast had some hefty requirements to activate. It required a powerful human fighter with high energy reserves that had a spiritual link to felines and a body charged with powerful transformative magic that had to cut his forehead on it. What were the odds of something like that happening?
Still it had happened and now a werecat capable of taking on any feline form existed. Even though the advantages were limited to the enhanced capacities of the five Werecat races and anything Iczeron could add in! While that meant it would take on the advantages of the Werecat type most similar to its current form, as it got stronger it would be able to try transformation combos, like Were-Liger or Were-Tigon, until it became possible to ascend to its ultimate state combining all the Werecat abilities in one superb feline form.
This is something Bast had to look into! Who triggered the Orb of Felbast? The easiest way being to use Toltiirs' currently unattended well to view the situation so that is exactly what she did.
'Ranma Saotome?!' Yes Bast knew of him, even before the bet, from his neko-ken training as one would expect. She had been very angry about the abuse of the boy, her subjects, many of whom died and a banned Werecat training method that allowed a boost similar to the 'Lunar Rave' or perhaps 'Kaioken' of Dragonball Z fame by taping ones inner feline! Unfortunately she could do little at the time having so few followers on Earth. So she gave Ranma what little blessing she could and cursed Genma with as much ill luck as possible. At the time it had been bad, but now Ranma would be incredible! Not to mention YUMMY! Purrrr, check those platnum Were-tiger abs!!
Heck this was a lot more fun than the Bet. Ranma would almost inevitably meet the Diggers and the Edge Guard Werecats. Given that he could breed with any Werecat resulting in a pure Werecat of the mothers type and Briannas' nookie dependance the Were-cheetah tribe could make a come back! Best of all she didn't have to do anything. Still perhaps she should remove the geas in return for a few divine quests. Like guarding Brittany Diggers during her pregnancy, creating or ressurecting some Were-cheetah girls for him and Raphiel (It'd be good to diversify the gene pool) and once matured fully a little nookie wouldn't be a bad thing for herself either!
Deites noted for their sanity & prudence quickly vacated the surrounding area as Basts' mad giggles unnerved the Heavens...
