Gen. Blitzkrieg snarled at the report. "Damn Battleax and those idiots in high command. How could they let that idiot Jester off so easy? He embarrassed the whole legion and went strictly against the book. So what does Battleaxe do? She promotes him! Grrr... He should be in a brig for a few decades, not living it easy on Haskins! 'It's an omega company' they say! Feh, like a bunch of losers like that would affect a rich snot like Jester! What I wouldn't give to have a real problem case to stick him with. Then he'd really leave the service, mavericks like him are no good!"
It was then that fate took an interesting turn, as a young lieutenant spoke up. "Umm sir... I might be bale to help you there..."
Blitzkrieg whirled on the boy. "What do you mean Colonel Nixon?"
"About a problem case to make this Jester leave. I think I have just the private here..." Nixon held up a really thick folder, which Blitzkrieg snatched and began to read.
"Hmm Private Coyote... 2 years in service... promoted for duty then busted down to private 6 times??!! Multiple mentions of disrespect to superiors. 20 counts of disobeying direct orders??!! Why hasn't he been sentenced to solitude for life for this yet?" Blitzkrieg exhaled...
"Mainly because whenever he disobeys a order something positive comes out of it... like when he saved that ambassadors daughter form the traitor..."
"What? Why wasn't such a thing made public knowledge? The legion should be proud of such an achievement!"
"Umm because the traitor turned out to be his superior officer?"
Blitzkrieg blanched at that before turning back to the folder. "What’s he in trouble for now that requires you to know of it?"
"Putting the entire command staff of his current company into traction, and in particular the commanding XO..." Nixon winced as he remembered the pictures of the guy... how the hell did he manage to fit the commanders side arm and his Rifle up there?
"What? Seems straight forward to me, solitary for life... hell maybe even execution..." Mumbled Blitzkrieg as he flipped through the file.... Gender-changing?
"Err...its not that simple sir.... there are extenuating circumstances... The entire female half of his company is threatening to release some very embarrassing information concerning the CO and his staff, if Ranma is punished. Not to mention there does exist a fair case for justification of his actions here." Nixon muttered nervously...
Blitzkrieg snorted "So? What could be so bad to make this HQ's problem?"
"Errr...well you know the Gregson family?"
Blitzkrieg blinked as he nodded yes. It had been a news story that the entire galaxy had heard of 5 years ago. A particular brutal series of rapes spread across 5 galaxies, including the wives and daughters of several important business families and diplomats. All performed by one family, and just as the police were about to close in on them...they...abruptly...vanished.
Blitzkrieg stopped reading and looked up. He didn't like where this was going. "Yes..."
"Umm well it...umm turns out that Coyote's commanding CO and his staff ARE the Gregson family. Apparently they decided tried to take advantage of their positions and have 'fun' with the female soldiers under their command. Since they were the entire command staff, their underlings had no one they could report the abuses to. Apparently they tried to do this with Coyote's female side... He errr.... rejected their advances... violently."
Blitzkrieg winced as he got to the pictures of the command staff in question. "How could one private do all that?"
"Umm the current theory is that Coyote is an escaped bio-weapon or something. Anyway it was thought that having the fact that the Legion took in the Gregson family and gave them command positions would be to much bad press. Especially after that debacle with Lieutenant Scarmouche and the ambassador."
Blitzkrieg frowned as he was reminded of the original problem that started this conversation. "Let me get this straight then... We can't publicly punish this Coyote over this... but you were thinking of transferring him to Haskins planet? Where he would be out of sight and a trouble for their CO?"
"Err...umm yeah I know it s a silly idea sir..."
Blitzkrieg stopped and suddenly an evil smile blossomed on his face. "On the contrary it's a WONDERFUL idea. I mean what better way to 'reward' this brave private for apprehending such scourges as the Gregsons? I mean we can't do it publicly of course... still I think an easy tour of duty in the swamps will be just what the doctor ordered."
"Umm right sir... I'll set up a ticket for the next transport to Haskin's immediately."
"Why Bother Colonel? I mean we already have a chartered ship heading there now. Why waste more Legion money on a separate ticket when we can easily add another passenger. Besides I think our dear Captain Jester should meet such an esteemed private firsthand, don't you?" Blitzkrieg grinned evilly; with any luck this Coyote will put Jester into the hospital as well. Then he could get rid of two rule breakers with one fell swoop!
Nixon paused and then slowly his smile matched the General's. "Of course sir I'll set it up right away.
Whoops looks like Blitzkriegs plan backfired! Unlike his previous commanding officers, Jester is a man Ranma can respect.
Thus a odd friendship/mentorship is born!
“Oh my Nabiki it’s not healthy to choke on your food like that!”
