“Silence, foul knave! The Blue Thunder of Furinkan High does not need an instruction book. I can do this fine all by myself!” And with that, Kuno pressed the red button labeled “sub-orbital space jump.” A small opening appeared in the control panel and a large white sign popped up, reading “Are you sure you want to do that?”
“Yes.” Kuno said arrogantly.
Another sign replaced the first, “Really sure?”
“Yes!”
“Really really sure?”
“YES!”
“OK, but you asked for it.” And with that, the final sign folded up back into the slot and a duck on a string fell from the ceiling with a sign around its neck reading “Hold on to your hat.”
“What?” Kuno barely had time to form the word with his lips before the ship and all inside were stretched and snapped like a rubber band out of the planet’s atmosphere. Exactly 2.9 seconds later, his stomach was in his braincase and Kuno found himself staring at an expanse of red rock.
Sasuke crawled out from under the control panel, having just barely found a hiding place of safety. “M-m-master Kuno, I think you were supposed to set navigational coordinates first. Tell the computer where you want to go. Otherwise it has no idea.”
Kuno looked first perplexed then intrigued at the idea. “Hmmm. Coordinates. Fine. Computer! I want to go rescue my pigtailed goddess and Akane Tendo. Let us be off!”
When there was no response, Kuno banged on the panel a few times. “Come now! Once more into the breach!” A slight whine came from the computer, but then nothing. “Sasuke! What is the meaning of this!”
Crouching, Sasuke said “I think it’s broken, Master Kuno. We’ll have to get parts from wherever we are. Maybe the inhabitants will help us fix it.”
Kuno nodded and went to the hatch. “A wise suggestion, Sasuke. Let us be off to...” he looked at a display screen, “this Mars.”

Meanwhile, Ukyo and Konatsu were jumbled amongst the boxes and other items in the store room. “Hey, Konatsu. Push that over this way if you can. I think I can free myself...."

As Kuno and Sasuke walked across the futuristic landscape, they saw in the distance a short figure, quickly walking towards a planetarium-like building.
“Perhaps we can get some help over there, Master Kuno.”
They entered the building and watched the figure bustle about. It was short, with a red body suit and green skirt, green helmet with crest. A large pair of eyes could be seen inside the helmet, but nothing else, the rest of the face darkened. He kept talking to himself, going from place to place, adjusting the telescope, returning to a bank of computers, then to control panel, then back to the telescope, all the while mumbling.
“Um, hi, can you help us?” Sasuke tried to attract the odd little man’s attention.
“Hello?” Again, no response.
This time, Kuno stepped forward and boomed importantly, “Halt and listen, valiant worker! I, Tatewake Kuno, the Blue Thunder of Furi-urk!” He was knocked aside by the little man, intent on his duties.
“I’m sorry, I must finish work on the Illudium Pu-36 Space Modulator. I have to blow up the Earth. It blocks my view of Venus, you see.”
Kuno and Sasuke blinked. “Uh…”
