[Episode 41379] [Episode 41379]Akane had been really nasty lately. Though Ranma blamed himself and a number of other things (even if he wouldn't admit it out loud) and practically everyone else blamed Ranma - it wasn't actually his fault this time.
The sad thing was that after Phoenix Mountain - she'd been shrunk to doll size and rebuilt with magic water. Well, trips to death's door had their costs.
Endometrial flaking, damage to uterine walls, ovaries that were no longer functional and sending hormonal messages that the body was having trouble processing, the onset of migraines, a blood clot that was cutting off brain cells and starving them of blood - Akane was on borrowed time. Add to all this sudden feelings of weakness and the side effects of the hormonal imbalance and you had an Akane whose temper was getting progressively worse as time went on.
If Happosai had spent more than two minutes groping, he would have sensed the imbalances. If Cologne were to examine Akane she'd be able to tell and possibly add anywhere from months to a year to Akane's potential lifespan.
Cologne and the Amazons weren't welcome following the failed wedding and Happosai hadn't been seen since drinking a full keg of Spring Of Drowned Man water.
That Akane could keel over dead from a cerebral embolism at any moment should the clot break loose and jam in a narrowing artery was not clear to anyone. Ranma couldn't even spell embolism much less determine what one was.
So Ranma went off to find a present because Akane's moods were getting worse and he wanted to make up for it.
