That was why she made sure she took this vacation ALONE. Two weeks ago, she had graduated from Furinkan High, and Mrs. Saotome insisted that she go on a celebratory vacation with her sisters. She had even put up the money for it. However, Nabiki had insisted she go on a solo vacation, and after giving her reasons, no one objected.
She had chosen a trip to the ocean because it was the most relaxing place she could think to go. She had rented a vacationing house in a secluded spot on the coast. Currently, it was early morning. Nabiki was not normally a morning person, but today she felt like coming out early and taking a walk on the beach. It was quite peaceful. Peaceful to the point where the world's biggest asshole would feel like being nice to the next person he ran across(that's pretty damn peaceful!). In fact, she was so caught up in taking in the sight, that she failed to noticed the large mound of sand until she hit it, causing her to fall face first into the sand, and ruining her good mood.
In her irritation, she kicked what she thoguht was a mound of sand.
Two mintues, several curses, and fifty-odd decibels later, Nabiki pulled her foot out of the soothingly cool water. Walking back over to the mound of sand that was ruining her day, she noticed the glint of black metal where her foot had hit. Curious, she began digging. About five minutes later, she had uncovered enough to determine it was a car. Looked like an American design, but shed need to find mroe to see for sure.
The only thing she was sure of now: Finding a car buried in the sand in such a secluded vacation spot was very odd.
Meanwhile, under the sand, a computerized system in the vehicle came online. K.A.R.R. ran a system diagnostic and determined he was fully functional. Thinking over what had happened previously, he determined he'd need to study human behavior a little more if he was to follow his self-preservation programming. Perhaps he could start with the human who was currently working to uncover him...
It took Nabiki about three hours to fully uncover K.A.R.R.
