Avatars and Goddesses: the duties and benefits of being an Avatar [Episode 4265]

"You are such a prude," said Hanali.

"Should we go with the standard benefits and drawbacks?" Hestia said and clicked on a Clairvoyance spell. "Oh my."

"I lightened it up," said the Dark Maiden. "They don't have to get involved in a mass orgy unless they wanted to."

"Hmmm, oh well, Ranma's just started to meow, and you'd be surprised at some of those still trying to get a quick Ranma-fix." Hestia smirked at what she was seeing.

• Nearly Ageless. The Avatar will hit the peak of their physical condition and their physical deterioration will slow to that of a 10,000 year lifespan.
• Celestial Power: The Avatar will also have an enhancing of their abilities and empowerment based on the deity in question. The Avatar will be the chosen representitive of the goddess, and therefore has to be able to "walk the walk."
• Linkage: The Avatar can be possessed at any time by the deity. She can fight or resist this, but otherwise goes into backseat mode where she is aware of what's going on but cannot directly affect anything.
• Duties. The Avatar will perform duties based on the goddess portfolio and agenda, otherwise acting as the High Priestess of that deity.
• Transformative abilities. To spread the species and marks of faith, the Avatar will be able to transform others through means that vary based on their own species and portfolio.

"So, Bast gets catgirls via a bite, Elle gets drow through the Kiss Of The Dark Maiden, Hanali gets elves through the Caress Of Hanali, I get anthropomorphs," said Hecate.

"You're still not off that 'furry kick' I see," drily commented Bast. She didn't have trouble with most of them but the dogboys just struck her as wrong.

With a quick smirk at Bast, Hecate continued. "-either that or mages, but what do you and Hestia get, Morrigan?"

Hestia spoke. "I believe the phrase nowadays is 'housewife' - though my definitions have never included meek. Method of transformation - I think I'll choose something like a bite myself. The human bite can be an attack or an expression of passion. However, only our Avatars should possess it - otherwise you start regular humans panicking as the tide spreads. They should all be beautiful and elegant."

"I'll help with that part," volunteered Henali, fascinated by this concept.

"As for me," began the Celtic war goddess-

• "While visiting a place called RIFTS Earth, I found many fascinating concepts. I think the idea of a 'battle angel' cyborg has merit, and that if I ask nicely, Hephaestus may well provide such a thing."
• "let's just go with a human form, they'll just be stronger and tougher and faster than they had been."
• "they'll have to earn their wings."
• "I was watching this mortal form of entertainment when the idea struck."
• "I thought of something else."
