In many cases, it was only his latent mutation that allowed him to survive such assaults on his body and system. However, it was only because his mutation was latent that he was affected.
Part of that was about to change.
"Well, this is the place," Wolverine said as they pulled into the institute's driveway.
"Kinda big, ain't it?" Ranma asked stepping out of the jeep.
"I'm warnin' you!" a girl called out. "You give that back to me or I'm taking the gloves off!"
Logan sighed dramatically as a pale girl came stampeding into the room chasing after a dark-skinned boy with blonde hair.
"So what's in this old 'journal' that's got you so hot under the collar?" the boy asked with a smirk. "You got any juicy dreams in here?"
"Ah raht, that's it," the pale girl snapped, pulling a glove off and charging forward.
"Rogue!" Logan snapped, distracting the girl as the boy dodged to the side. Allowing for Rogue to land right into Ranma. Instinctively she grabbed out at him and caught his arm.
Logan groaned and waited for the poor boy to drop like a sack of potatoes. What he didn't expect was the brief red spark followed by...nothing.
"Daijobu?" Ranma asked, helping the speechless Rogue stand up.
"What the...?" Spyke asked come to stand nearby as Logan and Rogue stared at Ranma like he was from the planet Mars or something.
Rogue took the opportunity to both retrieve her journal and test something.
"HEY!!" Spyke snapped as Rogue touched his cheek and, a few moments later he was weakly staggering to his knees as Rogue turned to poking the new kid on the arm repeatedly.
"Nani?" Ranma asked in confusion.
"Who...?" Rogue started to ask.
"Rogue, this is the kid the Professor told you about," Wolverine said.
