Dear Sirius,
I just woke up from a dream of a phoenix, its burning day, and a graveyard, but it was the feeling of family after I woke up that caused me to write. The feeling was coming from my forehead above my eye, where I usually feel a sharp, painful stinging if HE were nearby. I think it may have involved one of my parents, especially cause of the tombstone in this dream.
Signed,
Harry
As Sirius read Harry’s letter for the second time, he couldn’t bring himself to believe that Harry could know of his father’s “cursed” form, even though he knew of James’ animagi form, which left only the possibility that something had happened that could cause Harry to have such a dream, especially with the other dreams he’d written about in previous letters. Knowing something had to be done, he went in search of someone else in the house, as he could not leave without risking detection by the ministry.
Fortunately Remus Lupin was not only in the house but just outside the door when Sirius walked through it, “Remus, I glad you’re here, Harry just sent me this letter and I want you to check on Lily and James’… graves.” As he spoke he handed the letter to Lupin, who quickly read it over, before giving it back to Sirius.
“You don’t seriously think…”
“That’s why I want you to go check. If he has…”
“Well it would certainly be the best news we could give Harry in a while, and James may even be able to get all charges dropped against you.”
“Let’s not get our hopes up yet, just go and check quickly now.”
“Right.” ‘Crack.’ Sirius went back into the kitchen, just as others began to move into his home, recently dubbed as headquarters for the Order of the Phoenix, “bet James would think it funny if he did come back.”
