What she had just done struck her at that point.
She looked down at the fuzzy slippers and experimentally wiggled her toes. The toes of the slippers wiggled in response. Taking a deep breath, she reached around and grabbed the tail. What she felt there had her reach up and check the little cat ears. Those ears went flat as she considered her predicament.
"Just great, I'm an anime catgirl!" Akane growled, her tail whipping behind her in agitation. "How can this day get any worse?!"
ominous rumble
"THAT WAS A RHETORICAL QUESTION!!" Akane yelled at the ceiling.
Oh waitaminute. Those were shelves and shelves of pet supplies? Oooh how nice. A catnip mousie. Mousie mousie.
Ukyo looked down. She couldn't help it.
This particular room was one brick edgewise, maybe 6 inches, linked to similar bricks in an arch that formed the bridge over a swirling maelstrom below.
"Ick," said Kodachi. "That looks most disgusting. Whatever is that white stuff?"
Shampoo thought for a moment, judged that Ranma was looking the other way. "Crazy ribbon girl go find out." kick
Kodachi began to fall but did have an advantage in this sort of situation. "Ribbon!" whip!
"Aiyah! Crazy ribbon girl let Shampoo go!"
Nabiki had had enough of this. shove! "You two stop with this."
"Aiyahhhhhh!" "Foul harridan!"
Ukyo looked from Nabiki to the two forms, now almost mummified as they swirled within the whirlpool. "What is that stuff?"
"Liquid latex from the look of it," said Nabiki. "Now if you don't mind. You're holding us up."
Ukyo practically flew down the archway to the relative safety of the other side.
Ranma went into the next room and quickly made his way down the narrow pathway, not paying much attention to the odd leathery eggs stacked up everywhere.
"Oh hell, not Alien chestbursters," said Nabiki with disgust on seeing them.
One of the eggs burst open as soon as Nabiki spoke. Curious, the girl edged closer, hoping she wouldn't see the critter of the movies.
