With Great Will: With Great Will come Great Mis-Matching! [Episode 43662]

by Greyman

“What are you doing, Dear?” Kasumi asked her fiancée sweetly.

“I’m just going to match Shampoo and Ukyo up…” he answered and paused in thought.  ‘…but with whom?’

“With each other?” Kasumi exclaimed in surprise.  “Oh, my!”

“…uh?” Ranma uttered, then shrugged and nodded.  “Sure, why not?”  It worked for Nabiki and Kodachi after all.

The Great Will flared and reset the manga.  Ranma then used it to review the change….  Ah…  Ukyo had tracked the Saotome fugitives down a little earlier.  She’d caught up with them at Jusenkyo and been dunked in the spring of the drowned boy.  With the way she dressed there had been no outward change, and she hadn’t stayed around long enough to learn the hot water cold water deal – which had lead to some wacky hijinks at Jotsuzoku village after receiving a kiss of marriage from Shampoo in place of Ranma.

“It is a shame they don’t get along better,” Kasumi complained.  “They make such a lovely couple.”

Nabiki found herself agreeing.  “If only Mousse wasn’t around they might have a date without interruption,” she suggested.  “Or if Cologne wasn’t so busy trying to train her ‘son-in-law’.  Every time she tries to push them together they fly apart.”

Ranma blinked.  Of course, with Shampoo pursuing Ukyo, Cologne’s priorities had shifted focus too, and thus Ukyo had received the dubious (but strangely effective) benefit of hairball amazon training instead of him.  Her skills had improved to be a fair match for Shampoo, and the girls got along quite well, except when Cologne caught them getting along and inadvertantly pushed them apart…

Unfortunately there was also still Ukyo’s “out to get revenge on Ranma” deal… but that was blunted by the girls’ “romantic” entanglement, and he could handle their challenges that better than romantic interest in him.  Oh well.

“Yeah, that… sounds familiar.  So, maybe I should set Mousse up with someone else, but… with whom?

“Hey, don’t look at me!” Nabiki protested.  “Not my type!”

“Chains and whips are not your thing?” Akane asked snidely.

“No.  I have Kodachi for that.  I mean…  That’s not the point!”

“Whatever, it needs to be someone who can take his mind of Shampoo, and can keep him under control,” Ranma observed.  “Ah!  It’s obvious.”

One application of the Great Will latter and the Aging Mushroom adventure had involved the amazon trio.  Rouga, Ranma, and Mousse had regained their normal age, but Cologne had “settled” for somewhat less than a three hundred inch long mushroom.  One mistaken identity glomp latter, a  peeved Cologne had tried to discipline Mouse but her reflexes were thrown off by her longer reach.  Shampoo took delight in insisting that a kiss of marriage should be delivered.

“Of course it’s obvious,” Nabiki agreed.  “Mousse deserves Cologne… or vice versa.  There’s no need to interfere with them at all.”

“Eh.  Right,” said Ranma and then, “what’s next?”  He made a mental list, and checked it twice.  Akane was engaged to a reluctant Tofu, Nabiki and Kodachi were dating and —er— stuff, Shampoo and Ukyo were a couple (of somethings), Cologne and Mouse were… paired up, and of course, he and  Kasumi were happily engaged.  Everything was nice and neat, except…

“Okay, for my next trick!” Ranma anounced as he flexed his fingers.

“You’re going to pull a rabbit out of a hat?”

“Yes, I’m going to…” Ranma paused and gave Nabiki a flat stare.  “Nah, that trick never works.  Okay, on to the next loose end!”
