The Children of Mystique: Learning Japanese (From the Ranma: Evolution thread where Ranma is human and not mutant) [Episode 43671]

by Thrythlind

Rogue growled in frustration at Ranma's continued attempts at speaking English. This, by her mind was going far too slowly. Neither her nor Kurt would ever get any answers if they had to wait for him to learn English.

Then she considered that maybe she could learn Japanese. Very quickly. Maybe not Ranma, but...

"What are you looking at, girl?" Logan asked dangerously.

"Uh...nothin'" Rogue said quickly.

"If you think I'm gonna let you borrow a chunk of my head," Wolverine said. "Forget it now."

"Raht," Rogue said nervously. She paused a moment. "How about when..."

"No," Logan growled.

"I think you should quit while you're ahead," Kurt warned his sister, and then muttered under his breath. "Or at least still have one."

"Listen to the elf, girl," Wolverine warned. "Here we are."

The jeep came to a stop and the kids began to disembark.

"I see you've found him," Storm said coming down from the mansion. "Coincidentally, I've completed my own assignment, Betsy?"

A slender Japanese teenager with dark purple hair slipped down the stairs behind Storm. Ranma immediately noticed that the girl moved with the grace of a martial artist.

"This is Elizabeth Braddock," Storm said. "She is going to be staying on at the institute, and I thought perhaps that it would help matters if she took the tour with Ranma and you."

"What kind of name is Elizabeth for a Japanese girl?" Rogue asked.

"One with an English father?" Elizabeth answered, arching an eyebrow.
