Dark Mars/10 Rings: Damn ring! [Episode 4384]

by Thrythlind

Mars growled as the ring slipped off his finger yet again. He looked to the other three rings on his hand and back at the fourth one. Why didn't the Ring of Moon bond to him?

This body of his was still pure enough to hold three rings bound to her. That certainly meant it was enough to fool Moon. So why didn't the ring bond?

Moon was the biggest threat to him, and he wanted to control her to end that threat. Besides, if he could bind Moon, then it wouldn't matter how evil his soul was. That was the whole reason they had spent millenia protecting the Princess's prison, control Moon and you control them all.

Venus sweated within her prison as the evil outside tried to bind her again. She had no fear for herself, the thing was too corrupt to bind any new genie warriors, not without help anyway. What she was trying now was to buy time for the other genies to escape.

She'd felt flickers of her comrades' prisons and knew that straights were dire. Saturn and Mercury were fairly strong, but their efforts were divided between breaking the bond and supporting Mars. And Mars...felt different somehow. She was...younger...more confused...more physical.

It was difficult to pinpoint the differences at the moment, she was in stasis, hanging on the edge of a climax after a massive build up. Either Mars was unlucky, or the young man knew a lot about Genies. To know about stasis and the darker uses of it.

It was a hideous torture, hanging the victim on the edge of pain or pleasure. And the pleasure variation was harder to resist than the pain one. How did one resist feeling good? It had destroyed the minds of younger genies in the past, leaving them blank slates ready to be shaped. Still, Mars was an ancient genie, she could hold out long enough for them to escape, she was certain.

The young man slipped the ring on again. Venus was confused and relieved by the young man's lack of an attempt to hide his nature. For such evil to bind three rings he would have to be a master at hiding his aura, but he didn't even try. Perhaps he'd been corrupted suddenly.

Whatever the case, she'd learn it later from the others, she hoped.

Venus waited until the boy seemed to grow confident that he had succeeded...then she let her prison slip off again. Her would-be master virtually shrieked in anger.
