Looking disapointed, Hotaru gazed at her. "Aww... you don't?"
"Well, I do, but... I just remembered that I have something I have to do."
"Oh. Really?"
"Yes." As soon as she could get to the library's section on computers, and thus, AI's. "Important stuff."
"But could we do this later then?"
"Later?"
"Well, you can't be busy all the time."
"Umm... yeah..."
"Great! Do you have a book or something?"
"'Or something'..."
"Then I can ask you some puzzles!"
"What?"
"Well, I shouldn't hog all the figuring out to myself, now should I?"
"I... guess not."
"Exactly. This way we both get to have fun asking questions, and both get to answer them!"
"Lost of fun."
The android girl nodded. "Sharing's best, right Nabiki-oneesan?"
"'Oneesan'?"
"Kasumi is my owner, right?"
"Uh-huh..."
"Ranma is my Sensei..."
"That's what you said earlier."
"And since you've been so nice to me, you're just like a big sister!"
"I am?"
"Yeah! I mean, you came over and talked to me and even played games with me!"
"I see..."
With a broad grin on her face, Hotaru gave an impulsive hug to the middle Tendo. "You're great, Nabiki-oneesan!"
"Thanks..."
"Well, if you have to go do something, maybe I should go see if Kasumi needs any help!"
"That's a good idea."
"Bye bye!"
"Bye," Nabiki said to the Marionette as she walked away. That had been strange. Usually, most people would respect her, but keep their distance. Even Akane didn't always think of her in glowing terms. Thing was that only Kasumi tended to act towards her in any affectionate way.
But she told herself that she couldn't let that sway her from her plans. No cute smile would make her ignore the siren's song of being rich. Giving her a hug would not keep her from exploiting someone. After all, a machine didn't have feelings, now did it?
Which was what she tried to convince herself while she went to prepare for a trip to the library while:
