We have a theme… “X-men”, “X-Force”, “X-Factor”, “Generation-X”… I think you can guess.
Kima scowled. Just telling me would have sufficed.
Yeah, but this way is more fun!
Kima rolled her eyes and looked down at the group again. “I hope this is not a mistake...”
Spreading her wings, Kima leapt off of the edge and glided down in front of the X-men. They instantly took up defensive positions, ready to react if she was a threat. Kima smirked, they were warriors and not just freaks in funky costumes. She could respect them for that, even though they were “only” groundlings.
“Hold,” she stated.
“Who are you?” asked the man in the visor. “My name is Kima. Like Jubilee, I have been... changed. I wish to come with you.”
The group looked at one another. “How do you know about Jubilee?” asked Jean.
Kima smiled. “I can communicate with her, over the common bond we shair.”
Jean blinked. “That should be possible. It was only empathic, and one of our team mates blocked it.”
Kima shrugged. “One of my sisters strengthened it.”
Jean blinked. “May I speak with Jubilee?”
“You’re a mind reader?” asked Kima.
Jean nodded. “Yes, I’m a telepath.”
Kima nodded, and opened her mind to Jean, who linked herself with the bird-girl.
Hello? Jean cautiously asked.
Hey, Jean! exclaimed Jubilee. Everybody, introduce yourselves.
Hello, my name’s Chun-Li.
Rally Vincent.
I am Melfina.
Err… Hi, I’m Ranma…. Sorry ‘bout this…
“Okay.” Said Jean. “She’s telling the truth.”
Cyclops nodded. “Okay.”
“Question,” stated Iceman. “Is that thing in your arms what I think it is?”
Kima smiled brightly, and snuggled her egg. “It’s my baby...”
“Thought so...” he muttered.
“If you come with us well take you and your egg somewhere safe,” stated Cyclops.
Kima nodded. “Jubilee trusts you... That’ll do for a moment.”
Cyclops nodded. “Okay. Lets get her to Blackbird, then we’ll keep looking for Ranma and his father.”
“Ranma is not here,” stared Kima. “He was caputured by a man who called himself ‘Sinister’.”
Jean and Cyclops looked at one another. “Scott, this isn’t good…”
He nodded. “Jean, take her to the Blackbird and get in contact with the Professor. Well find Genma Saotome.”
“Where is this ‘Blackbird’?”” asked Kima. “It would be faster if I just flew to it.”
Jean smiled and began to levitate. “You don’t need wings to fly.”
Kima nodded. “I’ve seen techniques similar to that one.” She game her wings a strong thrust and took into the air. “Lead the way.”
Jean nodded and took off.
“Be safe, Jean…”
