Still, he had a job to do, and he was one of the few to be able to do it.
"Poor Mister Customer fall in Pool of 'One-Eyed Rabbit Riding A Rhino While Being Attacked by Fire-Breathing Snake'. Very tragic story what happen twelve hundred year ago. Destroy ancestor's hut at the time..," stated the Guide as he held up a sign with the spring's name on it.
Ryouga stared at the man who had just told him what he had just fallen into. This was horrible! How could he deal with normal people again?!
"Mister Customer fortunate though. Cold water activate curse, but hot make it go away..."
The creature that Ryouga had become felt the water splash onto his head and then felt himself changing. He looked down and saw his normal human hands once again. Happiness ran through his body as he realized that he was back to his normal self. Then he noticed that his cursed form was not one that fit well into his clothing, and as a result, he was nude in front of a really cute girl.
So he grabbed his pack and dressed hurriedly, his nose threatening to explode the whole time. Once he was dressed in his spare clothing, he stood straight and tall. "I'm back to my old self again!"
"Only until Mister Customer gets cold water on him again," corrected the Guide.
"What?"
"Each spring has own unique curse, and what person fall in has curse to turn into whatever drown there."
"But I'm back to being me..."
"Only until get splashed by cold water. Then you become rabbit-rhino thing again. Hot water turn you back, but no have permanent cure."
"You mean... I'll tunr back into... that..."
"Stinky purple rabbit thing? Yes, you is."
The Lost Boy stood stock still as the import of what had happened to him overtook him. All his years of life had left him with a solitary existance, and just when he had gotten close to his goal of defeating Saotome, this had to happen to him. It just wasn't fair!
Ranma looked up into his eyes and jabbed one finger into his chest. "Arrre you okay?"
"You're... asking if I'm alright?"
"Yeah..."
"How could this be..?" he asked rhetorically.
But she answered him anyway. "'Cause I'm sorrrta concerrrned about ya, that's why."
That set the Lost Boy into a whole new spin on his situation. Here he had a cute girl, no a really BEAUTIFUL one, who actually cared about him. And he was stuck turning into the monstrosity that he had just did. She was so lovely, and he was so UGLY in his cursed form. This was just too cruel for words. It was like 'Beauty and The Beast', only he was the 'Beast'.
His chance for happiness with an attractive girl and it had been ruined by his inability to talk to one without fainting. As he saw it, his only option would be to get a cure, but there was none to be had. He could imagine her leaping to his waiting embrace, only to be repulsed by him getting splashed and what that would turn him into.
And it was all because Ranma had run out on his man to man fight. If he hadn't, then Ryouga wouldn't have had to chase him. Which would mean that he would never have even gone to the springs and he would have stayed human. Then he would have been able to have approached his pure red haired angel as a whole man...
"ARGGGH!!!" he bellowed and ran away from the group, and the springs.
"Hey... Come back!" yelled Ranma.
'I'm sorry. I can't be with you like this..,' thought the Lost Boy through his tears as he dashed off.
Surprised by Ryouga's actions, Ranma didn't think of chasing after him until the bandanaed boy had disappeared. By then it was too late, unless she tracked him down, and she was too confused at the moment to bother with that. All she knew that the boy had acted really strange.
Having no better idea, she headed back to the hut, while:
