Two Shades Of Red: The real culprit revealed [Episode 45729]

The two courses being, as she saw it, attacking the imposter OR confronting Ranma about it.

A third possibility opened itself, and as she had done in the past, began sneaking up on the kitchen so that she could listen in.

"So, do you drink tea?"

"I can ingest most food substances and even enjoy them, however it is more efficient for me to recharge via connection to an outside power supply."

"Hmmm?"

"Yes, please."

"Well then, uhm, how did Ranma come to purchase an android?"

Akane eased closer to the curtain, hoping all the perverted details would be spilled.

"My purchaser visited the Cyberdyne showroom to get you a birthday present. While shopping he determined that I was unlikely to anger his fiancee due to some mental aberration on her part."

Akane began seething again.

"Go on."

"I was the first production model built in the image of Akane Tendo. Due to apparent legal difficulties, it is likely that I will become a collector's item. Apparently Nabiki Tendo misrepresented herself as having the legal authority to sell the likenesses of Akane Tendo or any of the others."

Akane felt her stomach drop nearly a foot. It was all NABIKI'S fault?!

"I was originally to be purchased by one Tatewaki Kuno, but he may be getting an identical unit - pending determination of whether Nabiki Tendo had such rights. Pardon me, mistress, but did you sell the rights of your own image to Mister Kuno?"

"Oh dear. No, I think I would remember doing so."

"Very well, mistress. I will contact the showroom and confirm that no permission was given."

Akane² had registered the presence of Akane₁ and determined no threat to mistress present. Akane² therefore seemed to ignore the girl holding a book over her face as she moved to the phone and "jack in" so that she could contact the store.

Akane₁ decided that she should

• get the android to confirm that she hadn't given permission either.
• talk to Kasumi about this.
• find Nabiki! She's got some 'splaining to do!
• turn green at the thought of Kuno with a perfectly obedient Akane at his beck and call!
• something else
