Ranma had stayed around to watch the officers take control of the situation. He wanted to make sure that nothing happened now that would set these girls free, and he also wanted to see what precautions they would take to keep them in custody.
In hindsight it might have been better if he ran. For as he watched several of the officers put the girls in strait jackets, tie them up in rope and chains, then secure their unconscious bodies to dolly carts, another officer had taken it upon themself to call his mother.
That officer may have been acting under good intentions, Ranma wasn't sure, but that person couldn't know what would happen next. Just as Ranma didn't know what would happen next. One moment he watched the girls get loaded into a heavily armored van (on loan from a bank) and watch it drive off, only to find his mom when he turned back.
It started sprinkling then but he didn't change, give him a couple of hours though (maybe a day) and he might just start dancing in the streets, as for now he was too tired to feel much of anything. Nodoka though had immediately noticed but hadn't spoken of it. Instead she opened her umbrella and gently urged him to come with her. No words were spoken though from fear/anger/?? Ranma didn't know.
On the one hand if mom were really serious about him acting manly then she might not see him as manly since he didn't....go along with the girls plan.
"Are you alright, son?"
With a start Ranma came out of his daze to find his mom feeling his forehead, checking for a fever. Her hand was slightly chilled. If you didn't count Akane's cooking then he hadn't been sick in years. When she asked if he was okay Ranma looked away and nodded (yes).
Arriving at the house he found himself seated at the table. Dimly he looked around. He hadn't been back in his mothers house since it was rebuilt. Though he had clear memories from when he visited the house he couldn't concentrate on the memories and compare this reconstructed house against them. Maybe it was a bit bigger and the furniture arranged a bit differently, maybe. He couldn't be sure of much of anything now.
And despite the house' warmth Ranma found his hands trembling.
"Here." Nodoka placed a cup of hot tea in front of her son. Sitting down across from him she waited until he took a sip, noting that he wrapped his hands around the cup as if to draw warmth from it, before continuing. "What happened?"
Ranma fought to control a full body shiver of fear. Then, taking out the tape recorder and placing it in the middle of the table, he began to tell his story.
