"So you'll have cram school until six o'clock?"
"Yes. So it's best for you to visit around seven o'clock. I should
be finished with my commuting then. Mother doesn't get home until
midnight. There would be no one to let you in if you came early."
"Oh. Okay. I'm going to miss out on dinner at the Tendo's though."
An opening! With that, one of the would-be mothers made her move.
"Don't worry about that! I'll come over to Ami's apartment and cook
dinner. I'll make one of my specialty dishes, guaranteed to satisfy
any appetite."
"Really? That's nice of you. Makoto, wasn't it?"
"Yes."
Miss Kino beamed at the attention paid to her by her future husband. Several glares were sent in her direction from the other would-be brides. Then another of them made her own move.
"Ranma! Can I call you Ranma? You can call me Mina-chan. You don't have to wait until the cows come for dinner to visit. I'll be happy to show you around before then. My classes end at four o'clock."
The glares this time were sent to Miss Aino. The expression didn't seem to be inadvertedly garbled; the way it was used seemed to be almost maliciously intentional.
"What a lovely idea, Mina-CHAN! WE'LL be GLAD to show him around
the district. TOGETHER."
"Yeah, Mina-CHAN. We ALL will."
Miss Hino and Miss Tsukino were looming over Miss Aino. Miss Kino remained seated though her fingers gripped the table's edge quite tightly.
"So... ah... I guess I'll see you all next Wednesday then, huh? Uh, bye!"
Ranma Saotome beat a hasty retreat, a tactical withdrawal out of a dangerous situation. He wasn't scared of these girls. No, nothing like that. What gave you that idea? It was time for him to get home anyways. Yeah. The idiots at the house had probably cooled down by now. Yeah.
