"Ummm... Yeah. that's what Ranma told me," replied Ukyo hesitantly.
"Then I take it that she did not have your permission to do so either?"
"Heck, I didn't even know that all this was even possible. She just found out about it and went on without even hinting at it to me."
"I see. That makes for the fourth of the images that she 'sold' us to become unusable."
"But... did you make one of me like you did for Ran-chan and Akane?"
"Actually... we did."
"You didn't sell it did you?"
"Luckily, none of the ones that were made off of the questionable images were sold. Or at least, to those who we did not know."
"So you made Akane, Kasumi and Ranchan's duplicates and sold them, but not mine?"
"Yes, that sounds right."
"Can... I see it?"
"Hmmm?"
"My... duplicate."
"I don't see why not." Kumiko went over and pressed a few buttons and an android appeared in a projected hologram. That didn't make much difference in and of itself, but the new robot looked just like a sleeping Ukyo. From the tip of her head to the soles of her feet, she was the same in every way.
"She looks so real!"
"That's part of what we strive for here. We can't get all the little scars and such that you would get from everyday life, but we can manage to make a duplicate of you that's close enough to be mistaken for the original."
"No kidding. But you're not going to sell her?"
"Only to you or to one we have your authorization to sell her to. Unless you wish to allow us to use your image for production that is."
"What were you going to have her do?"
"Well, her main program was to be for use as a chef, mainly in resturants and such. Every customer would have loved to be able to go and get served a piping hot meal from such a cute young lady."
Ukyo blushed heavily. "Uh... yeah... But what if no one buys her?"
"Then she'd likely be put in the back until either you would change your mind or until they were forced to..."
"That... probably wouldn't be good, would it?"
"I wouldn't think so, but that would be your choice."
The chef licked dry lips as she began to think. 'This is just too wierd. That's an android me there! But it's not me, only it loooks like me. I could buy her, but if I did what would I do with her? I could always buy her and give her to someone... like Ranchan. But would I want Ranchan to order me around? Well, not me... Though, I could let them sell the android copies, but how wierd would that be. Go into a sushi place and "Hello, my name is Ukyo, how may I help you?" Very bizarre and DAMN SCARY. Still, I could always have it changed...'
"Is there a problem?"
"What? Nah... Ummm..."
"Yes?"
Biting her lip, Ukyo told Kumiko that she wanted to:
