“I went back to the house. I couldn’t get in; the area was completely under control of the military. It’s definitely certain that they had found Saki. And the Angel Hearts.”
“Can they activate her?”
““No, brining Saki fully online is beyond the capabilities of contemporary science”. But there is always that possibility that they can switch Saki on. Speaking of contemporary, there is something I have to ask you. Your new apprentice, Ranma Saotome, who is he?”
Kamahito paused. He didn’t want to divulge a guest’s secrets, but this was an important matter. Perhaps, it would be wise to stick to the agreed upon story.
“He’s a wandering martial artist. He came upon the temple about 2 weeks ago. He seemed to have lost his way and decided to spend some time with us. Why?”
“I have reason to believe that he is not from this area. He’s probably not even from this time.”
“Is that so?”
“Yes. The reason is that when I had a moment to speak of him, the choice of words he spoke indicated he is not of this time. That he maybe from the future, but not from my time.”
Kamahito sighed.” “So he was telling the truth.”
“The truth?”
“I wasn’t telling the whole truth. When we talked, he told me he did come from the future. He wasn’t forthcoming on the how and the why he came here, but from what he didn’t say, it hurt him badly. Perhaps it would be best if you asked Ranma himself”
“I see. Is there anything else you did not see fit to tell me?”
“That he is a martial artist is beyond that. What is really amazing is ability to project ki?”
“Project ki?”
“He showed me a demonstration. He was able to project a ball of it. It was the most amazing thing I’ve seen. From his comments, it seems to be a fairly common ability.”
“Amazing. Anything else you haven’t told me.”
“There is...but that is some thing you will have to ask Ranma.”
“I will, but then there is also the matter of Kurumi.”
“True, we had planned to activate her by casting a spell on her. How he brought her to life by a kiss is still beyond my understanding. Hopefully, he will agree to go to Izumo with me. A man who can fight with a Steel Angel would be a godsend.”
