Tomobiki earned its reputation when Ataru Moroboshi won a game of 'tag' with the Oni Princess Lum,and her chasing him afterwords for marriage seemed to drag insanity to the little town, especially from space.
Juuban earned its mark when repeated youma and daimon attacks seemed to pop up every so often. Fortunatly the fuku-clad heroines known as the Sailor Senshi kept things in check, so it was considered somewhat more 'sane' than the other two.
Nerima's reputation begun when a certain pig-tailed martial artist came on the scene. Soon other Martial Artist and general nusiances began to flock to Nerima.
Nerima's turn from insanity central to the state of normalacy seemed to start out after the 'failed wedding' fiasco between Ranma & Akane.
The two forcably engaged finacees sat down and had a LONG talk after the wedding blew up in their faces. Ranma had voiced his opinion that neither were both ready to get married...and that both weren't wholly in love with the others.
Akane reluctently agreed. She cared for Ranma, but her anger and mistrust of him oftenly screwed things over with them. Same with his foot-in-the-mouth syndrome, navity, and arrogence.
So both decided to go their seperated ways. Ranma wanted OUT of Nerima to escape the madness chasing him, thus he accepted his Sensei Julia Diggers proposal to come stay at their home to train.
Of course Genma & Soun went to pieces as the key to their 'dream' went beyond their grasp. They're both now drunken grumpy old men of their former selves.
Ryoga, while his 'Ranma is the cause of all my woes' syndrome had curbed he still wanted a last fight. But after getting lost and ending up at Akari's pigfarm again...well circumstances made him decide to give up his rivalry with Ranma.
The Amazon's were a BIT persistent, they had actually gone to Atlanta to try and get Ranma, but that didn't go as planned. Pee Wee Talon's goonsquad was making another attempt to get Werecheetah DNA, and Daishi took out Shampoo who got in the way.....and ended up becomming her new AIREN! With a shiatsu tap from Cologne Daishi was left at the Amazon's mercy, and they promptly left since they didn't need Ranma. Mousse was left behind and replaced Daishi as one of Talon's goons.
Last we heard from Daishi he had actually settled down quiet nicely at the Amazon village with Shampoo, don't ask for the kid count though...but if you ever see the number one can tell why Shampoo is seemingly pregnant all the time, and Daishi walks funny. ^^
Ukyo amazingly took Ranma's leaving well. She did get in one last talk with Ranma, and with everything sorted out she actually found herself feeling very free once she decided to give up on Ranma. The Ucchan's was now the best chain of Okayomiaki resturants in all Japan.
The Kunos....the good citizens finally got the nerve to put the whole family in the asylum.
The Tendo sisters, well they turned out pretty well in the end.
Doc. Tofu FINALLY got over his anxioity and courted Kasumi and they eventually wed. Both are expecting their first bundle of joy I hear.
Nabiki went off to college and started a business venture with her roommate, and the business is well enough she's able to send plenty to keep the Dojo afloat and have plenty to splurge on herself.
Akane meanwhile gave up Martial arts. Realizing she treate dit solely as a hobby and it was partially what fueled her anger since she was so klutzy she couldn't bypass the basics she had learned.
After seeing a anger-management threapist, Akane was now attending her first year of college, her major unknown.
As for the rest of those who associated with Nerima..who knows?
