That was because he forgot a simple fact about the Dust that he had purchased. It was mainly taken into a person's body by them inhaling it. There were other ways, but in a situation like this, that would be the way that it would be taken. And he didn't even to bother holding his breath before tossing the bag, never mind heading to get his love.
So, due to his lack of foresight, he was just as infected with the rampant feelings as every other person who was involved. And as such, he was about to go after the first person of the opposite gender that he would see. Which due to his eyesight, took a bit.
But then, he put on his glasses so that he could look for 'his dear Shampoo'. That put his vision in focus enough so that he managed to see a female. She put thoughts of all others out of his mind, and became the center of his world.
Consumed by his sudden urges and the need to be with her, he went to grab the wrist of:
