She ducked into the changing booth that the Wizard had pointed out, (not really paying attention to the fact that the aforementioned structure was not there before the older man had indicated it,) and removed the soaked clothing she had worn. Included in her costume selection was a bodysuit, and she felt that wearing the skintight cloth was better than soaking-wet and male undergarments. After sliding into the silky-smooth and sheer fabric, she rapidly attached the other pieces of the costume that were included in the pile.
As the last part was attached, static seemed to fill her vision...
...and was replaced with darkness.
The Wizard sighed. Things had gotten bad in this world. So bad that he had to get involved, of all people! But as with all the things he did, he did it with style. With what was approaching, he felt sure that using Ranma, the premiere martial artist here, and mating here with cybernetic technology available from elsewhere, would provide a chance.
Not to mention the fact that the alterations to reality that would follow, - minor ones, really; even he would have been surprised at it if it weren't him making them, - would insure the viability of his choice.
In the darkness, Ranma saw/sensed the spark. Her reality, moments before a limitless nothing, now included a single point of energy.
As she watched, the spark blossomed into images. Snippets of her past that flickered around her, allowing her to see that her previous life and this existance weren't too different, after all. She was, is and would be a martial artist; simply the outer form would be different. So she waited for consiousness/full activation, to allow her to find out the differences.
The physical world returned around her, resolving into the guest room at the Tendo Dojo, with only minor changes registering to the past part of herself, or at least the Ranma-that-she-used-to-be. Her father's bedroll was the same, as were the backpacks. Or at least they looked the same, for her installed memory-banks indicated that at least half of hi....her own pack was in fact a combined power supply/toolkit that they used while out on a training trip.
The two chests were new, but their uses rapidly were regurgitated into her biological mind. One was filled with her clothes, a larger selection than she had before, yet still smaller than any of the Tendo girls. The second footlocker was loaded with components that she needed and ways of producing them. As a cybernetic organism, she sometimes required repairs instead of healing.
As she stood, a final line of green print stitched itself across her awareness, still unnoticed by her - as it should be.
