Ukyou blinked, and said. “Ooookkaaay, don’t touch the barrier, got it. Why not?”
“We were just about to learn that,” Nabiki said, turning back to look at Cologne.
Cologne looked back, her mind racing. How much should she tell them? The full truth? Not really necessary. The ball had fed very well on that PRC army forty years before, after that meal it wouldn’t need more for at least a hundred years. Best to keep to the cover story, it contained all the information that they really needed anyway.
Cologne drew in a deep breath, and then addressed the curious group. “As Shampoo said, it is a family heirloom that has been handed down from senior fertile heir to senior fertile heir in our family for thousands of generations. It is very effective in helping husbands to perform, and greatly aids the female’s pleasure. That is in a controlled setting, however, which this most certainly is not.
“The usual procedure is for the wife and husband to shut themselves in their home alone, and then to remove the ball from it’s leather container.”
“This leather container, it wouldn’t happen to be very wrinkly by any chance,” Nabiki asked with a smirk.
“Eewwww, Nabiki, that’s disgusting,” Akane said. Ranma winced again, and moved his legs tighter together.
“Exactly,”Cologne said with a straight face, causing Nabiki to facefault. “Now if I may continue. Once removed, the ball, erects a potent, ‘do not disturb’, barrier.”
“Like this one here?” Ukyou asked.
“No, not at all, this barrier is unstable because the ratio of people inside is unbalanced. Normally the barrier would be smooth and unblemished, without all this random electrical discharge. Anyone touching it would feel a smooth, cool, unbreakable, barrier. Anyone touching this barrier, even with a finger tip,” here Cologne directed a dirty look at Ranma, “will be sucked inside instantly. Once inside, they will be trapped until there are no more sexually active males inside.
“Excuse me?” Nabiki asked, blinking her eyes in surprise.
Cologne sighed. “The purpose of the ball is to offer the romantic couple seclusion from the outside world, and a chance to renew the bonds of love between them.”
“HA!” Akane barked out a cynical laugh, much too bitter for one of her tender years.
