Vash's New Day: Lockheart Meets the Stampede [Episode 47626]

by Red Priest of the 17th Order

Tifa Lockheart, owner of the bar, 'Tifa's Seventh Heaven' was currently mixing some drinks for one of her usual customers. A strong blend of 180 proof whiskey, 100 proof vodka, and a bit of lime margarita mixed in for SOME flavoring... And more alcohol consumption, of course. "Here you go, Porkens. Another Meteor Blast."

The pudgy patron of Tifa's bar nodded his head happily. "Thank you, Miss Lockheart. I love your drinks." And with that, Porkens reared his head back and downed his entire drink in one swig.

Sighing in disgust, Tifa decided to turn to her second customer. "And what will you have, sir?"

"Scotch on the rocks." The man said plainly.

Nodding her head, Tifa worked on automatic, reaching back to the wall of drinks, and grabbing the scotch without even looking. A few momvements followed with the sounds of tinkling glass, and ice, and scotch swishing back and forth, Tifa had fixed the man's scotch on the rock. "Here you go."

The man took his scotch and gave Tifa a nod. He then began drinking.

Tifa leaned back, looking over the small crowd of customers. It made her feel okay, knowing that she had such steady business. However, She still wished that there was more she could do with her life. Mixing drinks day in, day out, left her somewhat unsatisfied.

Still, there was that man she had found. The guy was found unconscious, in an open area just outside of the train graveyard, and the Sector 7 Pillar, which held up Sector 7 of the city of Midgard above the Sector 7 Slums. She didn't know why, but she couldn't bring herself to just leave the man there... So she took him back to her home in Sector 7.

Of course, when she tried to make the man more comfortable and tend to his wounds, she had gotten such a shock. Removing his coat, she realized his left arm was a mechanical prostetic. No problem. She's seen such before. Her friend Barret Wallace, the leader of the rebel group AVALANCHE was missing his right forarm, and had it replaced with a portabel gattling gun. "And this guy definitely doesn't have one of those."

Still, taking off his shirt... He must have been in so many battles. He had scars all over his body. Many choppy surgical wire holes along the scars, showing that he had tried to seal some of the wounds. And there were many other deep scars that didn't get such medical help. "Poor guy. I wonder what he's been through..."

It was then that Tifa's ears picked up the sound of a groan and that of a door behind her opening. Her eyes widened when she saw it was the blonde-haired man, fully dressed and up and about. "You! You're awake!"

Vash groaned, rubbing the back of his neck. It felt stiff. Hearing someone talking, he turned his head to see who it was. He was pleasently surprised to see a nice-looking girl. Dark brunette hair, with brownish red eyes. Very athletic build. Impressive chest. Vash felt like having a nosebleed at the sight of the woman's TIGHT white cotton shirt that wrapped around her generous breasts and showed off her mid-driff. Not to mention the very, VERY short black leather mini-skirt. "Uh... Hello."

Tifa smiled pleasently at the stranger in the red coat. "Care for a drink?"

Vash was about to say yes, when he felt his head pound a bit more. All the ebergy floating around through the air was makin a mess of his senses, and was going to take some getting used to. "Uh... Yeah. Glass of water, please."

Tifa blinked her eyes once, then twice. Been awhile since someone asked for just water. Oh well. Nothing wrong with that. "Sure. have a seat and I'll get it for you."

Seeing the man pull up one of the bar stools and sit down, Tifa reached below the bar's counter and pulled out a bottled water. She gently handed it to him. "Here you go."

Vash took the botttle of water from the woman gratefully. "Thank you." Uncorking the top, Vash began chugging the drink, taking down the water quickly. He then placed the half-empty bottle down on the counter-top. "Ah. Thank you."

"Don't mention it." Tifa said. "How're you feeling, stranger?"

Vash sighed. "Body's stiff, and I have a bit of a headache, but I'm otherwise fine." After a moment, Vash decided to see if he was on Gunsmoke still and said, "By the way, the name is Vash. Vash the Stampede." He let out a sigh when he didn't see the woman react strangely to that at all.

Tifa nodded her head. "Vash, eh? The name's Tifa. Tifa Lockheart."

"Tifa Lockheart..." Vash repeated. He managed to smile a little. "Nice name. Rather pretty."

"Thank you." Tifa said, blushing a little. She decided to change the topic and leaned forward on the bar's counter-top a little, so she was closer to Vash. "So, what brings you to the Sector 7 Slums of Midgard?"

Vash blinked. "Slums? Midgard? Is that where I am?"

"Yes." Tifa said. "You have no clue where you are, do you?"

Vash blushed a little. "Yeah. Last I remember, I was crossing the desert and then... I just woke up in that room in the back."

"Desert?" Tifa asked. "Which one? The Desert here around Midgard? The Cosmo Desert? The Phoenix Desert? The desert surrounding the Gold Saucer?"

Vash blinked. Phoenix Desert? Cosmo Desert? What the hell? "Yep... I'm no longer on Gunsmoke." Vash thought. Seeing the woman looking at him, Vash sighed. Couldn't let her know the truth, no way of knowing howw she'd react. "I guess I was in the desert outside of Midgard." Vash spoke outloud.

"I see..." Tifa said. "Maybe someone was kind enough to drag you within city limits, and then drop you off."

"Maybe..." Vash said.
