The three girls sitting across from Genma seemed a little disbelieving 'awed' by the tales of pure manliness that was his son. Kasumi thought it was sad that Ranma had to go out like that. Nabiki thought this to be the biggest load of bull. And Akane wasn't sure to think about Ranma, but thought that she could have handled herself better
Soun, meanwhile, was living up to form.
He was bawling his eyes out.
"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH! Your honorable son died battling cat demons to the death!" Soun sobbed, his vision of the schools being united crushed under the incredible burden that his friend had been placed under.
Looking over at her father, Nabiki wondered if it was possible for this liar that was their father's friend, to come up with anything more bizarre and unlikely for a story. "Uh... Daddy... Is it just me, or does this seem odd to you? This 'Ranma' person sounds as if her were some god, someone that could do no wrong, so long as his 'honorable father' was there to lead the way."
"And he was!" Genma restated.
Nabiki rolled her eyes to that. "Oh, pelase! Like some boy, all of fifteen, could have battled and won against hordes of corporate ninjas, amazons warriors, phoenix people, dark gods, alien skunks, magical girls in miniskirts, elven archers, shikiima, spell-casters, dinosaurs, werewolves, darkstalkers, street fighters, and Son Goku, but somehow, minor cat demons had managed to kill him in the end through pure luck, because his father hadn't been there to show him the way of things?"
"OF COURSE NOT!" Genma admitted. Nabiki smiled for a moment until Genma added, "He fought dragons, NOT dinosaurs!"
"Yes Nabiki, were't you listening?" Soun asked his middle daughter who was the bread-winner of the family.
Nabiki then pinched the brindge of her nose with her left hand. She felt a headache coming on. "Kami-sama, they're idiots..." She thought.
Kasumi decided to end this charade. She knew that Mr. Saotome was lying, adn didn't like it when people did so blantantly in front of her family for hours on end. "Please, Mr. Saotome, can you tell us what really happened?"
Genma froze. "Er... What do you mean?"
"Please. Ranma didn't exist. Did he?" Kasumi asked, looking Genma in the eye. NO ONE could manage to lie to her when they held eye contact with HER!
Genma managed to look her straight in the eye. "Of course Ranma exists!"
Kasumi nodded her head to that. She could tell that Genma had said the truth with at least that, and she smiled as she realized what he said.. "All right. But why do you say he 'does' if he's dead? Shouldn't you sy he 'did'?"
Genma cringed. The eldest had caught him in a lie. "Er, well, you see..." Genma sweated for a moment. He decided to use a half-truth. "I was trying to protect you from the truth."
"Protect us from the truth?" Akane asked skeptically.
"Yes." Genma said. "Ranma was not slain by cat demons. HE TURNED INTO ONE!"
Now all three daughters were staring at Genma. "What?" All three asked in unison.
"Yes!" Genma said. "Those cat demons used cursed water to change us! They turned Ranma into a cheetah-monster, and they made it so I turn into a Panda with cold water."
Kasumi shivered. Genma had said that while looking at HER when he said what Ranma! She could see wasn't lying. "Ranma is really a cheetah?"
"Yes, and he ran away with them. That ungrateful boy!" Genma growled. "After all I did to him, err, I mean for him, he runs away like a girl!"
Nabiki, Kasumi, and Soun scattered back when Genma said that. Then Mount Akane blew. "BAKA!!!"
*WHAM*!
Kasumi stared at the unconscious Genma whow as buried under a small pile of wood shards. "Oh my Akane, did you have to break his head with the table?"
