The realm of the Gods. A place beyond mortal comprehension, at least unless viewed through anthropomorphizing lenses. Through those this section of the realm appears to be an old slightly run down store.
And through the store's door comes a new customer. One of many gods who habitually watched over an anime world.
"Hello?" the customer god called.
"Back here!" Called a crackling voice in response. Following the voice the customer walked through the store to the cluttered room where the form of an old man was carefully putting an oddly shaped Gundam model together.
"Ah, yes." The customer said pausing at the edge of the room. "I'm here because I need an artifact."
"Only reason people come to see me." The old god commented, not looking up from the model he was assembling. "My own son hasn't dropped by in nine thousand years."
"Err, Yes. I need to. . . Test the world I'm watching over. See how the people living there will react to a divine artifact." 'And win the bet I made in the process'
"Ah, that bet. I've already outfitted your pal, and don't ask me what he got cause I'm not saying. What do you need?"
The customer looked a moment, then nodded to himself. "Wishes, I want a wish granting artifact."
"Their popular these days. Matter of fact once this model's completed it'll grant wishes too. What sort of wishes were you after?"
The customer stepped in and started looking at the variety of items on the shelves. "What sort of wishes have you got?"
"All sorts. That music box your looking at grants wishes that only apply while the music's playing and go away when it's closed. The hammer next to it is an overkiller."
"Overkiller?"
"Always goes for overkill in granting. Wish for a dog you get a huge pack. Wish for a coin, you get buried in coins."
"Ah, I see." The customer took another step and looked into a cage.
"He's in suspension now," The Craft-god commented, "When he wakes up he'll be able to talk. He'll also grant any wishes anyone puts to him, but the wish translation algorithm's designed to always mistranslate at least one word or phrase of the wish."
"Clever."
"Beh, Twisted wishes is pretty standard. Twisted for malevolence, twisted for benevolence, twisted for cats. . . Heck, that chest has a magic sex toy that grants wishes and twists them in a sexual way."
"I see."
