She knew something of Ranma’s life, as with the Time Gates she had viewed Ranma’s past so she could deal with him better. The Cat-fist was a horrible thing to happen to a six year old.
Being kidnapped by demons was more than likely worse, though with Ranma, there was no telling.
Setsuna nodded her head as she realized what the fuzzy thing was getting at. If Ranma could survive this, he would probably be stronger than his previous demi-god slaying level. A trip through the lower realms could break a man easily, or forge a fearsome warrior.
The question was what would be her part in all of this. “How will I be helping Ranma with this fate?”
The plush toy of an Elder God rocked back in forth in its imitation of a nod. “Senshi power of Death help shape. Become Demon sword that protect humanity. Project form from sword, help little Ranma, be very powerful weapon and close companion.”
Setsuna winced at that pronouncement. That sounded a lot like being bound into a rune sword, except manifesting was a new twist. Still, she did feel a bit responsible for this mess. “How well will I be able to project from the sword? I’d rather not just be a talking sword.”
The creature bobbed about thoughtfully as it considered how to translate the information. “Limitation on projection is that serve wielder. Bound will you be. Serve well, manifest more, perhaps become companion instead of weapon.”
Setsuna processed that into something more comprehensible. Basically she was going to become a rune sword, but if she cooperated, she got a life outside the sword. There was another concern however. “What about the Sailor Senshi?”
The little fuzz ball hesitated this time, testing the words out. “Setsuna no longer Senshi. Setsuna serve warrior, not princess. When paths cross, Setsuna remember that.”
Before Setsuna could ask another question or protest further, her existence faded and changed.
