Tenchi/Slayers: Arrival [Episode 49180]

authors note: I chose the something else option, because in my storyline Yosho remains on earth. Thus it doesn't fit with option 2.

“MI-YAAAAAA” Cried the black crystalline looking ship as it slid into orbit around the planet. Inside everyone had gathered to see the location of the crashed ship containing Mihoshi’s parents.

“That it? Looks like a backwater planet.... no check that this is even MORE primitive than a backwater planet.” Grumbled Ryoko, Ayeka Sniffed.

“What’s wrong Ryoko? I would think you would be used to dives like these... a home away from home so to speak. OH-HOHOHOHOHO” Ayeka laughed, unable to resist the chance to take a pot shot at her rival.

Mihoshi piped up. “Why aren’t we landing Washu-san?”

Washu’s eye twitched, even as she looked at separate image on Ryo-ohki’s display. A magnification of one of the planets major settlements really. “That’s Washu-CHAN.... and as to why we’re not landing? I want to get a sample of the local Dialect first. Then I can program some translators. It will be much easier to find your parents if we can interrogate the locals. Also there are some odd energy readings occurring spontaneously all over the planet. I wonder if that's what prevented the distress signal from reaching GP earlier. Perhaps if the energy signals were strong enough in the theta plane....”

Tenchi sweat dropped as he watched Washu get lost in a tangent, theorizing topics he couldn’t even begin to imagine. Sighing he decided to try and be the voice of reasons. “But Washu-chan, I really think Mihoshi wants to find her parents now. How long will these translators take to make?” “Eh? Oh I finished them five minutes ago.” Washu gestured to a series of small almost unnoticeable disks on everyone’s ears; Tenchi reached back and felt his own disk certain it wasn’t there a moment ago. Hmm felt like his skin, almost like he had a small goose bump on the rear of his ear. Washu continued speaking. “We can descend any time you like; I’ve even pinpointed the crash site. Now back to my project. Theta plane would be nice, but surely there would be several dozen wastelands on the planet if they were strong enough to block the signal... maybe the Stratenheimer Principle?”

Sasami Giggled at Washu’s antics. “You hear that Ryo-ohki? Let’s go find Mihoshi’s parents!”

“Miyaaaaa!” echoed the craft as it angled downward, towards the coordinates provided by Washu.

As the ship entered the atmosphere, both Washu and Sasami suddenly stiffened. They each felt a gentle breeze across their minds, and almost like an echo in the wind heard a faint. ”Welcome home, my daughters”

This of course went unnoticed by the rest of the Tenchi crew as they were observing the planet fall. Well Ryoko might have noticed had she not been whipping her head around searching for the source of the presence she just felt. A presence that radiated curiosity, affection, and amusement.
