Ironically, after Ranma defeated Saffron, Pluto discovered that she'd merely traded one problem for another. While Saffron now would not become powerful enough to withstand the Purification, Ranma Saotome would end up avoiding the Purification by accident, having been sent by one of his rivals to an alternate dimension for a week. Upon returning to discover the world changed, Ranma decided to mount an insurrection, culminating in a ritual using the magical waters of Jusendo to Awaken the people of the world, effectively nullifying the Purification and simultaneously making everyone on Earth the equivalent of a weak senshi. Ranma died casting the ritual, but the Sailor Senshi were all killed within six months by the enraged population.
No sir, Ranma Saotome had to go.
And in the process, Pluto could resolve another potential mess.
In Britain, a war was breaking out among the hidden magical population between Dark and Light. As things stood, the Dark Lord would get himself killed within a few years, but not before rampaging through the British Isles and near Europe. They would be just finishing the clean-up when an Obliviation team would run afoul of Sailor Venus, visiting old friends.
A misunderstanding became a disagreement which led to a confrontation, and before anyone knew what had happened, the Sailor Senshi were at war with the wizards, led by Harry Potter.
It was an argument that almost destroyed the senshi from within, and Crystal Tokyo came dangerously close to never happening in any form. After all, it was one thing to fight evil, but but the wizards were just a bunch of prejudiced jerks, led by a Champion no less. Granted, by this stage of his life, Harry Potter was a broken down wreck of a Champion, but he was still a Champion none the less.
In the end, Pluto convinced Sailor Moon the Wizards had to go. The Inners agreed to follow Serenity's lead. Neptune and Uranus disagreed, and were sent to their castles to maintain a constant watch on the solar systems boundaries as punishment. Within a month, the wizards were no more; but the arguments lasted a millennium after their end.
But now, Pluto had an opportunity to change all that.
Harry Potter was a Champion in the making. It was he who, through trial and travail, would be the one to kill the Dark Lord once and for all. And thanks to the machinations of Harry's mentor, Albus Dumbledore, Potter would be so damaged and exhausted by the end that he wouldn't lift a finger as magical British society slipped right back into the same holding pattern it had been in for centuries.
After discovering the old man's manipulations, Pluto had once taken the time to really dig into Potters life. The amount and depth of the manipulations she'd found had been amazingly mind-boggling. It was a web of deceit she would have been proud to call her own. What he'd done to that girl friend of Potter's had been Art, to say the least.
In some ways, Pluto would rather destroy a Rembrandt than disrupt those subtle machinations. But needs must, and all that.
A quick spell borrowed from the wizards made Ranma's backpack into a portkey. It was timed to go off an hour after Ranma discovered his fiancee's infidelity, just as Ranma made his escape from the Tendo Dojo, just as he was questioning his existence and his self-doubt was driving his will to survive to its lowest point. And then Ranma would find himself between the Dark Lord and Harry Potter.
For all his power, Ranma was just as mortal as everyone else. The Killing Curse would kill him as quickly and surely as any wizard. In the resulting confusion, one of the Death Eaters would send a lethal curse at Potter, avoiding the brother wand effect that saved the boy from Voldemort and killing him instantly.
With just a little effort and magnificent timing, two thorns in Pluto's side would be removed. Even better, without Harry Potter, Voldemort would conquer the British Isles within two years. Venus would still have an encounter with British Wizards, but these would be Death Eaters tearing up the town for fun. The Senshi would agree unanimously to destroy Voldemort's steadily growing Dark Kingdom. Serenity would actually use the Crystal to eliminate dark wizards hiding among the population, a sort of test Purification.
Pluto watched through the Time Gates as Ranma wandered through the streets of Nerima in confusion. Wait...
Who was that? And what did he give Ranma just before the portkey activated?
Suddenly, Pluto had a very bad feeling about her murder plot.
Meanwhile, Ranma was:
