Only a simple planet. Nope, of cause not. Mihoshi does know the standard of rich on a galactic basic, even if she is broke herself. And she could use the wish to help two of her friends with a small problem, and she did love weddings. She had the perfect weeding planed for herself and, well oh, yes, she should concentrate on the wish and of cause using the lowest amount of magic as possible, it was the easiest way to do it by…..
Somewhere, sometime, some line was put into a document about a contest meant to stop another silly war between two empires of stars.
Jay and Kay got up from the benches in the temple. “Well, that was one part of the job which went well.”
Kay, with a swift hand removing something, which had disturbed his eyes: “You mean the story doesn’t stop here, with a weeding and everybody living happily after? “
Jay: “Maybe for the bride and her beloved, but we still have to take care of the loser”.
Kay: “Why? she accepted it.”
Jay: “Yep, but that means she is without a groom and its to big a chance for Earth to gain influence, so we put something extra into the small print, and them being those who they are. Well, lets just say we finally can wind up a lose thread in Nerima”.
Leeana looked on her failure, her life as it had been. The Sallusian conglomerate hadn’t defeated her. The space pirates hadn’t defeated her. No, the only one who had defeated her, was the only one she couldn’t beat. Herself. Well, at least Asrial and Jeremy could be her friends now, but sadly not her lovers. For the first time since she took the position of heir of the Zardonian Empire, she felt tears on her cheeks.
Somebody gave hr a handkerchief. Leeana looked upon the face of the old human, who had been supervising the contest and smiled through her tears. ”Well, I lost, didn’t I?”
Jay smiled: “Those of greater wisdom than me, would say that you highness have surpassed yourself. Letting go of someone is often a greater act of love, but yes, according to the rules you have lost.”
Leeana: “So much for this game”. She looked once more on the happy faces of Asiral and Jeremy.
Jay followed her eyes: “Yes, the game of love, the game of life, you highness. That is what Earth offer to the mighty. And exile to those who flee the mighty”.
Leeana: “Exile? What do you mean?”
Jay smiled gently: “The story may have ended for Asrial and Jeremy, but I’m afraid you’re just started in another”.
